I think most of us here are pretty reasonable and have reasonable expectations. People were happy with the bowl performance and happy with the Aranda hire.

That doesn't mean we all think a NC is in the bag. But I'd expect improvement in all 3 phases going into next season.

Well, when LSU does positive things, like win a bowl game by 20+ and make a great DC hire, yea your tone/mood might change.

Conversely, when they lose 3 in a row by double digits your mood might be negative. Amazing how these things work.

No. But, Peveto was LB coach and ST coach. Steele was "LB coach" in name only.

Now, BDP can actually spend more time coaching ST. That should help. Remember, in season it is difficult to make big changes. Coaches only get 20 hrs of contact time per week.

Why do you think we need a new OC to see improvement in the offense next year?

Nothings changed for me...until we can get a QB that can read through progressions, hit short and medium routes consistently to move the chains, nothing will change with the offensive woes...

ETA: looks like some people can't handle the truth...

Meadowlark Lemon said, "The most meaningless statistic is the halftime score, and in life it's always halftime."

Lemon was an eternal optimist with a continuous motor...just like Miles...just like most achievers.

The change in posts is refreshing. I was almost to the point of getting myself banned with a real rant.

The Bowl win and DC hire doesn't have me feeling any better about our O improvement next year or our competitiveness vs. Bama?

Well if we could give miles at least three weeks to prepare for those tough November games we might just win the sec. Seriously though I liked the bowl game and the new hire. Still have some holes to fill though. Let's just hope all this recruiting depth we should be alright.

Substitute "most" with "some" and I would agree.

Seeing the beginnings of some changes on the O, and an attacking D with good turnover production, plus another year's experience for Harris, should round us out pretty well for next year.

Depth at DL will be the big plus. Plus O has more time to coachemup.
