May be younger than most on here (17) but I love sports and am planing on majoring on some platform that allows me to talk about sports as an occupation. This post was half serious half a "just for fun" first post/bold prediction. The post was based off of my prediction of JR turning things around and becoming a scary force offensively, while "getting the job done" on the defensive end. This was not supposed to sound like I think JR deserves a staring Catcher spot

Again, this post was half serious/ just for fun a bold prediction. I am making a BOLD PREDICTION that JR will turn things around and be a beast. I am not saying that he deserves a starting catcher spot.

Comments like these about 19-20 year old kids are why a local radio host refers to this site as a "cesspool of negativity."

Wow, that wasn't even close to the shite people say in here that justifies that statement. I am simply stating a fact about what happened to him. If that was too negative, or mean, then it is time we stop breastfeeding that kid and let him be a man.

Well, you don't know shite about baseball then so you may want to major in that first. J/K.

You don't put a guy behind the plate that just "gets it done" especially at this level where teams will run on every other pitch. Pap would have to go 0-147 before he would get pulled.

lol, I do know about baseball, but maybe I am OK with settling for mediocre behind the plate because of watching my White Sox for the past 8 years. Ever since A.J Pierzynski left we have had Geovany Soto, Josh Phegley, Tyler Flowers, and others than have been "getting it done" at best, but have been able to be feared at the plate. IDK, Geaux tigers, hope everyone does well this season. Would like to see JR rake this year

They're all MLB quality catchers. Romero isn't even major D1 material back there. He can catch, yes, but he's terrible at blocking pitches and throwing runners out. College baseball is vastly different than MLB.

Matt is just an arrogant know-it-all. It's either his opinion or it's wrong, and it can clearly be seen by the way he treats his callers. Don't even get me started on his segment with Theriot...

I said, "let me know what you think about this." - As in, obviously it's my first post and I was just toying around with this site, so let me hear your opinion or any feedback from my post. Not, "Be an arrogant a-hole in the comments"

I'm well aware that MLB is different from College it didn't take you telling me that for me to figure out. You re-stated my argument in your own reply. JR is to D1 as the last 6 Whitesox catchers are to MLB. (Thats an analogy, if you didn't understand it) They are both bottom of the barrel that are not great but can get the job done behind the plate and can hit. This whole argument started from me making A BOLD PREDICTION and yall get so damn worked up. Let loose and read my post for what it is, dont twist it into something its not.

Honestly dude. That's pretty much what you're going to get on the rant. They love to pounce on anything they disagree with and try to make OP feel stupid. You know the type... Keyboard warriors.

There are some posters on here who actually use this place for info and to have good conversations about the Tigers.

I'm probably a little harsher than I should be at times, but don't let the assholes on here get you down. Take care and good luck

CPM will actually use mid week games to develop a 4 starter. The middle relief out of the pen will be able to come in and throw strikes. With Poche and Lange we should finish 1st or second in the SEC.

Dunn's confidence in Pap allows our staff to throw consistent 2 strike "out" pitches in the dirt with RISP, and if he throws out 30% or better of attempted steals then those two combined are worth 100+ points and 25 RBI's at the plate.

probably 70+% of the people on this board do not understand this. baseball is more complex than people that have never played at a high level realize. great post.

Now that Bryce is out if Slaughter doesnt pan out (not saying he won't, but it's possible) then I could see Romero making the transition to 1st base.

If Pap can just somehow hit .300, he becomes a top SEC catcher this year if you include how he plays defense. He's gonna catch most of the year even if he is stuggling at the plate still.
