This may not be too bold, however it is not in a lot of people's predictions.

However, I know that catcher is not the strong spot for this years team, however my bold prediction is that when returned to full health, Jordan Romero take over the starting catcher spot and will play like he did during that stint where he had about 7 home runs in two weeks, and had everyone knowing his name within days.

I know that he has not played that well towards the end of last season, as well as hurting his shoulder and has been rehabbing it recently, however I think he has it in him to be one of the best catchers/offensive forces in the SEC.

Let me know what you think about this

Romero was a liability behind the plate when he was back there last year. Pap is infinitely better defensively.

Nice 2nd post...

But theres much hype on this talented team. I hope it doesn't wear on them. My bold prediction is a 3rd or 4th in the sec due to an off april. Will pick it back up at the end and make it to the CW.

Excessive use of the word "however".

Um, what? He got hot for a short stretch and then forgot how to hit a baseball. Dude went like 0-for-20 and kept striking out, leaving runners on base after that

Comments like these about 19-20 year old kids are why a local radio host refers to this site as a "cesspool of negativity."

Thats why I said 1) It is a bold prediction and 2) I stated that he didn't do as good after that hot stretch, you pretty much just re-said what I posted

Agreed, sometimes it feels weird to be judging and obsessing over kids only 1-3 years older than me. However sports will be sports and I believe it will always be worth talking about, negative or positive

Should be a solid year for the Tigers, we finally have a great mix of pitching depth, offense, and defense. Only weakness would be the outfield arms and we lost speed out there. All together it's a great TEAM. The infield should be the best or one of the best in the SEC if not the country. Offense should be average to above average depending on how the new guys excel. Pitching will be the deepest I've seen from a PM group. Should be top 3 in the league pretty easily. JR will be used for offense not catcher sorry. Even if our starter is hurt he could be the 3rd best as of now so, nah can't see that happening. He's a great offensive DH and will probably be drafted for that spot he projects that good. Needs to stay focused, become more patient at the plate with that he could be dangerously good.

I understand you're young and all but Mainieri has never used the catcher's position as a spot to insert a bat. He uses it strictly as a defensive position which is what he should do. Last year when Romero was in base runners were pretty much going on 1st or 2nd pitch every time. He's a defensive liability. He either needs to DH or play 1st. That's it.

There is absolutely no way that Pap will NOT be the everyday catcher. He would have to hit sub .150 before they contemplate pulling him out from behind the dish. Dunn's confidence in Pap allows our staff to throw consistent 2 strike "out" pitches in the dirt with RISP, and if he throws out 30% or better of attempted steals then those two combined are worth 100+ points and 25 RBI's at the plate.

Dumb dumb dumb original post....do better
