My biggest fear about running Les Miles in this way...

Hopefully this hasn't been posted 10000000 times like everything else but here is scenario that scares me.
Lets say that Les TRULY is going to retire (after being fired) and maybe he wants to set sail with $15mm more dollars, and doesn't want another big time job. I don't think ANY major university is immune to recruiting skeletons. What if Les Miles just decides to drop a few nuggets on the NCAA about some of the recruiting issues at LSU over 11 year span? What if he is so pissed at the BIG MONEY DONORS that he decides to launch any and every skeleton about those donors possible interactions with recruits etc. What if ex players are really loyal to Les and now that their career is over they decide to spill the beans about his recruiting trips, or time playing here.
Just another thing to think about! I am all for moving on and finding another coach and I have been more aggravated with Les Miles coaching style than most but LSU needs to handle this very carefully in public and with Les Miles.

coming from someone who does not care at all about LSU and is unbiased, Les is way too classy to do something like that.

Les would never do that
Not even if he was bitter.. and it would only tarnish his image as well

So the great man will undermine the program out of spite?
Doesn't seem like the actions of an honorable man.

I think his respect for the players, fellow coaches, and (most of) the fans would override any personal grudge.

90% of coaching transitions are not amicable. You're close to the situation, so you think it's worse but it's like this pretty much everywhere.

So he's going to shite on his own legacy? Hmm, ah...nope.

You obviously know nothing about who Les Miles is as a man or a coach. No football coach would do that and we all cheat.

To be fair, Miles has a lot of spite in him. He took the opportunity on Monday to burn Herby after almost a decade. He doesn't forget things.

I'd be worried about killing the #1 recruiting class in the country, having mass exodus buy current coaches vital to this program and having horrible choices to chose from for our next coach. The last thing you have to worry about is Les.

You're moronic to compare these two events. Are you kidding?? Tell me this is sarcasm.

Oh, my sweet summer child, what do you know of fear? Fear is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep and the ice wind comes howling out of the north. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides its face for years at a time, and little children are born and live and die all in darkness while the direwolves grow gaunt and hungry, and the white walkers move through the woods.

I might not have seen all of the press conference Miles had on Monday, but I don't recall Herbstreits name being mentioned, and even though I knew who he was talking about, as most people probably did, I didn't take what he said as a shot to Herbstreit.

Les wouldn't crush his own reputation.
Time heals all wounds and LSU will likely honor Les in some way. He has done a great job here for the most part, but his time has passed and like Bobby Bowden, it feels bad at first, but will all settle down in time.
