JJ is a zombie on the sidelines. No fire. Team assumes the persona of their coach.

Josh Gray went from a 34 ppg scorer in JC to one of the worst shooters I have ever seen at the college level.

Brandon Sampson went from one of the best outside shooters in the nation in HS to a "can't make a basket" shooter under LSU coaches. Remember when JJ said earlier in the year Samson was the best pure shooter he had seen since Chris Jackson. WTF happened? Did the coaches alter his mechanics?

Quarterman was not as good this year as last year, even though he put his hear and soul into his effort.

Patterson didn't improve from last year to this one.

Craig Victor was better than I thought he would be. Has a nice mid-range shot, but was off today. Good effort on defense, but often out of position and not in the same league with Jordan Mickey on blocked shots.

Malone tries but is ineffective and makes too many poor passes.

Robinson is improved, but needs to leave his feet from time to time. Just being 7' tall doesn't give you the altitude to block shots in the paint.

The offense seems to have no plan, little movement, much indecision.

The defense can be good when the players put out strong effort, but they don't play that way for 40 minutes. They give away way too many easy baskets in the paint.

The offensive rebounding in offensive! When a player shoots, the team tends to take off down the court to prevent a fast break, leaving the rebound to the opposition.

Ditto on free throw rebounding.

While Simmons is as advertised, the team never really learned how to complement his skills.

While the coaches can't dribble, pass, shoot, defend, or execute the plays, they should be able to teach the players to do such things. I am mystified as to why the players never really improved over the season, with the exception of Blakeny, however it has to have something to do with coaching. I really like JJ and respect his recruiting ability, but he certainly has something to prove for me to think he is a good basketball coach.

Ok, attack me! I sound like a negatiger! However I am actually just a really frustrated positiger!

Your thoughts?

If I'd wanted to read the Bible, I'd have gone to the game in Nashville today.

TL;DR

The season started out as total disappointment, then gave us glimpses of hope, only to crush our tournament dreams at the end anyway.

Here's my assessment:

1) Jones should be fired
2) Simmons is overrated
3) This team has no heart
4) Recruitment is sub par
5) Hornsby is the man! Too bad he is a senior, he will be missed.

execute the plays

What "plays"? These guys just run around aimlessly until someone decides to shoot a bad shot. They look lost as shite when they have the ball unless it is a fast break. They cannot create anything and are constantly running into each other's space.
