Without being crucified, there is no way a Pistol and Chris Jackson team can win a championship. Both were offensive hogs and couldnt spell defense. Loved them both though. Always thought CJ is severely underated in the history of College Basketball - - he was unstoppable on the offensive side.
Give me
John Williams - good luck guarding him. Should have been the second Magic
Jerry Reynolds - he can shut down anyone
Anthony Wilson - never misses a wide open shot
Shaq
Stromile Swift

Both Pete and CJ played a lot better defense than people give them credit for. Especially Pete. The only thing a lineup with Pete and CJ, both great shooters, it would be hard finding them enough shots. All we see of both of them is their offensive output. Watch old games of them both and you will see they were solid on defense.

I am much surprised that no one has mentioned Stanley Roberts.
Roberts attended Lower Richland High School in Hopkins, where he led his team to two straight state championships, was a Parade first-team All-American his senior year, and considered a top five player nationally, holding his own against Alonzo Mourning in the Dapper Dan and McDonald's All-Star Games.
Subsequently, he played collegiately at Louisiana State University, teaming up in his second (and last) season with Shaquille O'Neal.
He was a 1st round draft pick and played over 14 years in Pro Basketball.......

Stanley Roberts.
Should be the back up center. He never was a fan favorite. I think b/c he seemed lazy to the fans and gained weight.

John "Hot Plate" Williams? Next to Shaq and maybe CJ, probably the greatest singular talent to ever play at LSU, at least in the modern era.

I had Anthony Wilson in my starting 5 but took him out - man he was deadly. Didn't have Rudy Macklin either - - that probably is a mistake.
This is a fun topic - - LSU BBall was so much fun in the 80's and early 90's. Can't believe how irrelevant the program is now. Hell at least with Brady we had a few good team every so many years.

Damn.. no love for Ronald Dupree at all.. that is crazy... dude only finished his career ranked in the top 10 of both points and rebounding all time at LSU.

I'll take the 5 guys with the best chemistry, which is the 1981 squad - as a team, they played above and beyond anything that had Shaq, Jackson, etc.

Now you bring up a huge dilemma - do you take the charming eccentricities that Tac Minor brought to the table - or do you go with Torris Bright?
