What did you expect Musselman to do? Is your expectation based on your JJ prejudice or Musselamn's resume?
Improve the overall basketball IQ of the team, but that didn't happen. And I have no "JJ prejudice"

I find it amusing that we have so many fellow ranters who apparently attend basketball practice every day because they know exactly how little Musselman has contributed and that is because of CJJ.
Despite all of it's setbacks and frustrating play against lesser opponents, this team is better coached. Or perhaps they are just now finally understanding the coaching. The defense is much improved. Martin has post up moves now that he didn't have last year. The fast breaks are usually things of beauty.
We even occasionally (not often enough) run a pick play for the guards. Or how about those off the ball backdoor lob/dunks?
But year I know what you mean. CJJ hires coaches that are better than him and then get's jealous and won't let them coach (some of you will miss it but this is sarcasm).

Part of me feels like he'll hold out for a better job after lSU gets so much national exposure next season. Plus he's a 2 time 3x-NBA head coach. He will get more high profile offers
However, San Diego is an amazing city, and it's his alma mater. If I had to guess, he's probably gone. Still he's going to look at the big picture and consider what else opens up

I think it's a win-win. at worst jones will have learned new methods, techniques, and ideas for future reference. I'm just glad LSU got him for even a year

You seem to be certain that Musselman is not contributing only because of JJ. Why are you you so certain?
We literally have not been able to in bound the ball the last two years. That's what makes me certain.

Win! Win! for everyone concerned.
Musselman takes San Diego job and brings Johnny Jones as assistant!
Bam!
