He probably thinks you're stupid too if you argue that AJ McCarron is a better college QB than Geno Smith.

Not taking anything away from Nola, but this NOla>Gray crap lets me know who knows baseball and who does not.

says the guy suggesting we not pitch Nola tonight..

I love the elitist "you don't know baseball" attitude by you and some others. Get a grip, dude. Take a fricking nap and wake the frick up without being such a cynical know-it-all.

Moustache is one of those guys who has a real tough time watching Mainieri win at LSU. He comes out of the woodwork after big wins and he will often be overly "objective".

It is his coping mechanism. 2009 was the same way. It was very tough on him.

When Nola is hitting his spots like he did tonight

Yeah, if we are talking just "stuff", Nola is not elite, but the dude is a pitcher. He is just a composed and professional type pitcher. Always hits his spots, fields well, holds runner, etc.

Nola sure as hell is capable of shutting out any team.

Based on tonight? There will be much better hitting teams in omaha

nola is just fine with his stuff..throwing hard is a good thing and gray is a great pitcher..but velocity isn't everything...look at ott he threw mid 90's but his stuff had no movement...where as cotton who throws upper 80's is the better pitcher...

Gray's stuff is scary...he throws upper90's without any visible effort...his slider is sick. As I was watching him pitch, all I could think about was if this guy is #2, the #1 pick must be incredible.
He needs to get a little better command of his fastball and he will be a major league teams #1 starter...

I would have thought after that stupid fricking thread of yours this week, you'd have stayed your dumb fricking arse off the entire board for a while, much less this topic. I will give it up though, your fricking dumassery will not be stopped. It knows no bounds.

People confuse "stuff" with velocity.

Nola has great stuff. He has more movement on his pitches than 99% of the prospects. His arm action on offspeed pitches is great. And, his breaking ball is tough to pick up for right handers.

If he threw 94 instead of 90, he'd probably go #1 overall next year. I still think he is going to go very high.

That was why I put it in quotes. He is a pitcher. And an amazingly mature one at this age, He has "it".
