O may not want that title, recruiting coordinator goes much further then just a nice title.

Orgeron said in the recruiting meetings, Frank was the most detailed recruiting coordinator he had ever been around. Everything was planned and mapped out.

a pure position coach is going to be hired.

In that we get Jabbar Juluke to coach RBs OR we move Tony Ball to RBs and hire Curtis Johnson to coach WRs?

Because those are the 2 home run hires. I don't have a problem with Austin Thomas getting the RC title, but I wonder how that works with recruiting rules regarding coaches/admin assistants, visits, etc. Thomas has been working with O since 2009 or before. I'm not sure his hiring wasn't instrumental in getting O in the door last year.

But, at the end of the day, we need to replace an Ace (and, specifically, New Orleans/So. LA) recruiter like Wilson with someone the caliber of Juluke or Johnson.

He's more or less been splitting the job with Frank for two years. Frank called him a future NFL GM. I think it's a slam dunk move and what most staffs are already doing unofficially. Thomas would essentially run the support staff, manage the board, and set up all visits. It frees up your ace recruiters to be on the phone and on the road.

A lot of talk that Juluke isn't a serious contender because he isn't ready. His connections to nola are undeniable, but a lot of people doubt his actual recruiting ability. Name I keep seeing is Larry Porter.

Very well could be the reason they haven't finalized a deal for O because there was interest in Frank for other jobs.

If BDP is an "elite" recruiter, could someone help me identify the LOI's he has obtained that we likely would not have otherwise gotten?
I understand there is room, for argument over the "would not have otherwise gotten..", but a well founded/ argued list would help clarify this issue.
I've seen the claims, but I have never seen anyone adduce evidence in support of BDP's achievements as a recruiter.

Why does it upset you so much that BDP is a valued recruiter? You think Rivals just makes up their best recruiter rankings and just happened to throw BDP at #2?

yeah, I'm not upset.
But in my world it helps when opinions are based on evidence.
Your response, predictably, provides none.

No way to know, but in this class alone Devin White, Rahssan Thornton, Erick Fowler, Micheal Divinity, Rashard Lawrence, and Cameron Lewis have all mentioned him by name. They aren't the only ones but that's just off the top of my head.

Best I can do is "adduce" you a link showing that 247 considers him the best recruiting assistant in the SEC, ahead of O, Frank, and Raymond.

BDP is a nice guy and knows La. He knows all the coaches and their families. Those are the connections that make you a good recruiter....plus money to grab a plane and get there...asap. He was not the best candidate for STs.

Need more evidence?

Bee,
I think I see your problem...
And it is formidable.
Your statement, standing alone is not evidence. It's not even opinion that can be identified with a reputable source ...
Try again?
BTW, I am not saying there is no evidence, but I am saying I haven't seen it.

Jesus christ why do people keep saying this? He's not a better recruiter than Orgeron and maybe not even Raymond. He's good but not THAT good. Coach O should be the new recruiting coordinator.

So which is it? Funny you completely brushed aside my post. The evidence is right there. Click his name within the link and there's another half dozen articles praising his recruiting ability. No one is going to spoon feed you just because you're lazy and stubborn.

Peveto doesn't make sense as a recruiting coordinator anyway. He's already dealing with ST and LBs. Some say we struggle on ST because he had to pull the weight on LB. Fine. Does anyone really want to hand him a 3rd job here especially one as big as this? They'd have to change some things before it could even happen otherwise he'll really be stretched.
