Joe Burrow against OU in the semis

While Oklahoma was overrated and not deservedly in the playoffs, they were still a legitimate Top 10 to 12 team with Top 10 to 12 talent all through the roster.

And we could have scored 100 on them. :letthatsinkin:

All things considered this gets my vote.

Off the top of my head I have to go with Fournette vs Auburn 2015. What are some other dominant SINGLE GAME performances that y’all can think of?

That game was incredible but it wasn’t even his most dominant game.

16 carries for 285 yards and murdering that DB on a swing pass vs Ole Miss was his most dominant game.

Collins could have been one of the top 3 running backs in LSU history. Such a shame.

The week after Auburn he injured his ankle against Vanderbilt. I wonder if things would have been different if he were not injured.

From an "effort" standpoint, #RollClyde is way up there. I mean, if Clyde had gotten injured early, or been sick, that game is in question - that is how significant his critical stats were for the game.

Performance, though, Joe has probably half dozen games in the Top 20 for LSU football players, including OU which may be the most dominant performance by any football player against any opponent in CFB history.

If we just look at it:

29/39, 493 yards, 7 TD, 0 INT against a playoff team, ostensibly #4 Oklahoma.

We could have scored 100 points in that game - easily.

Didn't Faulk have some insane numbers against Michigan State in the independence bowl? Thought it was around 500 all purpose yards

Hester vs Florida in ‘07

not flashy or eye popping numbers.
but you just knew he was getting exactly how many yards he needed and nobody was stopping him.

I disagree, if any of those things had happened the game would not have been in question. Bama would have won.

As great as Joe was in that game and all year, Clyde won us the Bama game.

Russell against Tennessee 2005

We lost that game, and in 2006, the following season, he had 3 turnovers. 24/36 for 259 yards and 3 picks is hardly dominating (2006). He was 14/28 for 158 yards and 1 pick in 2005.

Nobody ever gives him enough credit for this. If it weren't for his last touchdown I am not sure we would have won.

Kevin Minter's 20 tackles vs Florida in 2012. If the offense had a pulse we win that game.

I leave open the possibility of someone else picking up the slack or our going another way.

Keep in mind, despite the final score, the last time Bama had the ball with a chance to take a lead was with almost 3 minutes left in the 2nd Quarter.

I don't make it out for many LSU games, living across the country, but I did manage to witness some otherworldly performances from Leonard in 2015 & 2016.

Auburn 2015 - 228 yds, 3 TDs
Texas Tech 2015 - 212 yds, 4 TDs/44 yds rec, 1 TD
Wisconsin 2016 - disregard
Ole Miss 2016 - 284 yds, 3 TDs

The one nobody talks about even when bringing Mathieu up might be his most dominant performance vs TAMU in the Cotton Bowl

Alley Broussard vs South Carolina in 2003 is not deserving to be on the list. Alley vs ole miss in 2004.

What could’ve been if he had never gotten hurt. People have forgotten how good he was
