Those guys were on point in the MSU-LSU game analysis. That game should have NEVER been that close. We'll all take 1-0 in the SEC, but that was ridiculous. It was painful to watch and should not have been. LM is scared to death of interceptions. I think his entire focus for an offense is to control the clock and avoid interceptions at all costs. That'll win 8 games but he's got the personnel to win 10 or 11.
LSU recievers could have had a field day if just a play action would have been mixed in on first down every now and then. This was more of the same. IT AIN'T CHANGING!
Maybe they'll surprise us, but this is crazy. That was a bottom tier secondary in the SEC and LSU refused to throw a forward pass in the second half when the plays were there.

Jarrett Lee scared him for sure, but I think with the way Harris played he'll take the handcuffs off quicker than usual.

Only way Miles will change is when his conservative crap causes us a big loss and then he will finally change (maybe) and it will cost us a chance at a MNC.

Actually one of the guys had a little different take on Miles and I agreed more with it.
It's not so much fear of passing. It is that Miles' philosophy is we will control the line and use our rbs and defense to beat you. It works most of the time but is not the best situation.
We don't need to throw 40 times a game but I believe atleast 25 pass attempts a game would keep the defenses honest and we have the qb to do it.

Something else baffled me on the offensive side. In the second half, LSU went to a NO-huddle hurry up offense but was sitting on a 11 point lead at the half running a conservative offense. In other words, we were nursing an 11 point lead and running a fast paced offense. Wouldn't it make more sense to run the play clock down on every possession to end the game? Crazy!

Leave it at that. You guys complain when we don't run the ball enough and lose (Arkansas last year). Then you complain when we don't pass the ball enough and win. Give me a break.

Well, as frustrating as it was watching us cash it in during the second half, I kind of tend to agree with Miles on this particular decision. Since I've sobered up from the game, it makes more sense.
Imagine if they had thrown the ball in the second half more, with a very young QB in a loud, obnoxious stadium with a lead in the game. If Harris throws a pick, MS State gets the ball back with more time on the clock with better field position to score. If we were to lose as a result, imagine what that would do to Harris's confidence going forward.
There were so many mental mistakes made by players around Harris throughout the whole game as well. This was the right move.

Les Miles is responsible for the play calling.
But Cam calls the plays. I'm sure Les approves of the game plan.But on the field play calling is Cam's . If you don't believe that, take a nice pare of binoculars to the game and explain how he calls the plays with out moving his lips and sometimes talking to whomever just came off the field. A lot of time you can see this on TV. Cam has no feel for the college game,at all.

Harris played well. Made smart decisions, used his feet very well. Harris will thrown an interception. It is part of the game and is unavoidable. You learn from it and move on.
I don't want anything crazy. But when there are 10 men fronts, just once I'd like to see us run PA or throw a slant. With 10 in the box, Harris completes that pass and the WR has one man to beat to the house.
Its not only that. Were it not for a bonehead delay penalty, State probably makes that field goal. We let the opportunity to win be controlled by the other team. We made poor halftime adjustments on both sides of the ball.

It'll be a slow process...unless we get down 2 TDs and Harris has to put points on the board.
I would think the goal would be to get harris ~20 passes this weekend, and slowly work that up to ~25 with some of those being more difficult (i.e. intermediate, middle of the field stuff).

southern miss threw for 311 against them. they are not good in the secondary but les is scared to death of throwing the ball.

The generous interpretation might be that Les wanted to protect Harris in his first start o the road as leader of the 2015 offense, and that after he gets a good performance at home and in the next several games, he'll trust him more and open it up.
That's extremely defensible if this was a snapshot/one-time thing, but against the backdrop of Mile's track record since 2009 (2013 excepted) it is easy to understand why folks aren't buying that narrative.

With LF in the backfield not going for several play action in a series is purely stupid. If nothing else, it will make LF more effective.
