Much of the optimism coming out of practices was based on each side of the ball facing inferior competition

Both coordinators failed to put the players in the best position to win. Scheme-wise and play calling

Kelly knows this, and now has to eat a shite sandwich all season, no different than special teams last year.

He was never gonna live up to the expectations this year. They were too high after Mulkey, Johnson, and beating AL at home.

I figured next season would be his better chance, but looking like his coordinators could be a problem

Sad reality check. Out-coached and out played. Reality is we did better last year than anyone thought in year one. It’s just one game but doesn't bode well.
