We aren't hiring a coach until the off-season yet that's a pretty hot topic

Meh, lucky number 7 is just a popular number in sports. A lot of top players everywhere like to wear it.
Because the number 7 popularity is not really unique to LSU, number 18 has more significance.

So if we are going to list people lets list the #18 since the tradition started.
2003 Matt Mauck (QB)
2004-07 Jacob Hester (RB)
2008-09 Richard Dickson (TE)
2010 Richard Murphy (RB)
2011 Brandon Taylor (DB)
2012 Bennie Logan (DT)
2013 Lamin Barrow (LB)
2014 Terrence Magee (RB)
2015-16 Tre’Davious White (CB)
I think that unless you're a casual fan and don't understand the tradition started by Matt Mauck. It's not about personal accolades. Here's is LSU's officially word on the #18
Among the players, I suspect the #18 is more highly valued.
