This game will make our season somewhat respectable. Usually that's the case for Ole Miss. It's the first time since 2003 that LSU fans and team have looked forward to this game. Usually we're just like..."oh, these fricktards again"

ULL ran against them pretty well. Vandy even ran for over 100. I think we have slightly superior personnel in the running game.

I know this is really digging in the history books for some of you, but I also felt that way before we beat Florida in '97.

I hear ya... see my username? Alumni95. I didn't expect to win much at all in the 90's. But 1997 was closer to 20 years ago than my premise of 10.

You're right. From the last few years, I'm so used to thinking, "oh god, we can't lose", it stopped being fun. I enjoyed almost every SEC game in the early DiNardo and early Saban years because if we won, it was something to be proud of. If we lost, it wasn't a disaster even if it was to a team we could have beaten.

That's why being in Tiger Stadium during the '80's and '90's was so great. You just craved games like this and what "could" be. Now, far too many are just jaded.

On paper, there seems to be no way we can win this game.

The spread is 3 and despite the blackbears claims of more talent....I would guess LSU has more NFL talent on the roster, by a long shot, than Ole Miss...albeit young.

Their defense is arguably the best in the nation

It is pretty good....I'm withholding my judgment until they play Auburn and Miss State. The offense you play does make a difference.

Our defense has been gashed both times we have played Top 10 level teams.

You mean top 10 level offenses. Ole Miss is not close to that. I would argue that KY probably has as good an offense as Ole Miss.

Not only that, I think we might win it comfortably (10 or more points).

My official prediction was 20-10. I feel like LSU, with the crowd going crazy, controls this game...and people will be surprised we run the ball on them. Alabama ran well in the first half, then quit running in the second for some reason.

That was @Ole Miss. They played two in a row at LSU in 2001 and 2002 when the SEC schedule was transitioning, so they had home games in even years then.

I ts absurd to think Ole Miss has caught up with LSU across the board Talent wise... And I don't think they have.... They are better at the Most important position on the field. QB.... The guy can implode or light you up... But its still a huge advantadge for Ole miss... That can overcome some of the other areas LSU has an edge in....

In your first answer you said our d-line is better than their o-line but in this answer you say we are weak inside stopping the run. So which one is it?

You're trying to point out a contradiction that isn't there. According to your logic, there's no way that LSU's D-line could be both better than Sam Houston State's O-line and a weakness against Mississippi State...yet its painfully obvious that both of those things are true.

Ole Miss is 84th nationally in rushing yards per game.
State is 13th and Auburn is 14th and they averaged 300 yards rushing against LSU and won.
UF is 61st and Kentucky is 62nd and they averaged under 100 and lost.
If Ole Miss were better than State and Auburn at running the football, I would say that would be a poor matchup for LSU...since Ole Miss is worse than Florida and Kentucky at running the football, its a good matchup for LSU.

My whole point is that Ole Miss appears poorly designed to exploit LSU's weaknesses, which is a great thing for LSU.

only if Oe Miss completely craps themselves and turns the ball over a bunch

For some reason, many of our better wins against them have been on the road.

This is incorrect

I was at that game and Bama had some success running left on their TD drive.. On said TD drive, Yeldon had ~1/3 of his rushing total for the day... That was the only time the Tide entered the redzone the entire game.

Feel free to read that last sentence again

And Bama quit running it. Not because ole miss shut it down. Thus my point.

Be calm...you are supposed to win...if you do, it was already supposed to happen.

If you don't...well...

Good luck this weekend

Here's to an injury free, cleanly played game.
