Well the US is deep in almost every event, so it helps create the teams and relays. It's also more of a way for USATF to get viewership and attract sponsors.

Sweden doesn't have enough athletes in every event that qualify under the Olympic A standard to compete for spots in a national qualifying meet.

BTW- listen to this interview as it is really insightful plus he talks speed and breaking 10.4 then someone brought up racing Sha’Carri Richardson. He said that would kind of make sense. Laughing.
