He has no business out there. I'd like to see Beckwith get some time and see what he can do. Only reason I'll bet he's down on the chart, is he hasn't learned the defense yet.

Really, only Barrow and Alexander look better than other linebackers. I'm not backing Welter, other than to say, he's not playing his position worse that Martin, Loston, Eugene, Mills, Collins, etc. are playing their positions.
I'm only confident in Jared Allen, Freak (only because he is double teamed on every play and is still, somewhat, effective), Kwon, and Barrow on defense. That's a short list for the talent we have.

I mean imagine if we had Landon Collins out there instead of Ronald Martin's terribleness

I know there's a lot of knee-jerk guys on here, but when those who have been around, coaches and the like, can see this, and he still sees almost every down, it results in the kind of depression and panic you see from some.

I'm sorry but the defense is awful. I think we should try some others on defense as we sure not doing well now.

White looked pretty human out there yesterday.
Can't hurt to get the young guys some experience though. I don't think the defense can be worse.

I'm not going to bash welter but I have watched him since spring and here is my analysis of his game...
1.he has a slow reaction time reading offenses...
2. He does not get over the top of the seal block which creates a whole at the second level
3. Once the OL reaches him he stays blocked, this also created a whole at the 2nd level.
4.he cannot run with a receiver in his zone which creates a problem for the safety when two are streaking
5. The young man is a betr weakside he shouldn't be a MLB.
There is more but I think these are the most important

Is there a stat for tackles for gain? Welter seems to be racking up a ton of that.
