thru 5 games welter has 7 solo tackles,in which he is on pace to finish the season with 20 solo tackles...
minter finished the season with 55 solo tackles and 130 total....
welter is averaging 1.4 solo tackles per game...
minter averaged 4.2 solo tackles a game....
I was willing to ignore all the talk about how bad this guy is playing and give him a chance to improve from game to game but you cant teach speed ....he is two steps behind on every play..
a change is needed....

We don't have another Minter on the team

we don't need another minter ,just someone better than what we have on the field....

Tackles for loss is also a stark difference. Minter had a bunch. Welter, not so much.

I still wonder how CJ Johnson wanted to play for OM over LSU.

But we have a Louis, Feist, and Beckwith who I think would all do much better, even with less experience

Exactly.
Welter on the bench would def solve our defensive problems.
You people are geniuses ... Call chief tommorrow and let him know.
Email might work too, hell even a text.

Here comes the Welter defense brigade

Barrow Beckwith Kwon
make it happen: have Kwon and Lamin tell Beck what to do

We all know this, we've been saying it since game 1.

actually I thought the defensive game plan was horrible...
especially the prevent on the last drive...
for fricks sake you would think after bama and Clemson we would learn something...
as far as the mlb position , I was just pointing out the drop of in production...

Certainly there is a drop in production there.... As it is every other position on that unit.
Everybody would agree with that,, but some o these idiots actually believe 31 is holding us back... Actually I love it bc it pisses these tards off so bad.
Chavis doing it on purpose.
He told me.

Why are you defending this guy so hard? His lack of production speaks for itself.
Posted on 9/29/13 at 11:25 am to mattz1122
Mainly bc idiots such as yourself bash the guy when there's 7-8 others that deserve it as much if not more and they never get mentioned.
Wonder why that is?

the way I see it...if that's the best we have then fine it is what it is.....but if the future mlber is sitting on the bench then I would rather see him on the field....
I was pulling for welter as I do for every tiger , but he would be a better back up imo...

You're right, he's not holding us back. Clearly one of the best players on defense

Barrow
Barrow didn't play well either
and our defensive line was dominated especially in the second half but I didn't see as much substation on the d-line like previous years

Maddening that we sit there with the least athletic player because he supposedly can make the right calls that lead to 44 fricking points.
GA has to adbandon the run game, yet our Mike is playing 6 to 7 yards off the ball, waiting on blockers when the rare run occurs, and defenseless to prevent a completion.
There was a critical (at the time) 3rd down play in the 4th quarter and I texted a friend that they would isolate Welter for the first. We line up with a stacked line and only Welter off the line. He walks up to fill a gap, then at the snap backs off. They complete a pass over his head for the first down right at his normal position.
Fill the gap and try to block the passing lane or cover your zone! WTF!
Or how about when we do dog him and he gets nicked at the line, falling at Murray's feet? I know you would swear it's personal, but it's not. I would want nothing more than to see this kid excel. He's almost as local of a product as we have where I live.
I just have a passion for LSU football and want to see the coaches give this team the best chance to win, and I've been around the game long enough to actually think I know what I am seeing with my own two eyes.
