We had the 112th ranked offense nationally last year. We brought back the coordinator responsible for an atrocious offense and a pathetic offensive line. Yes Crowton is responsible for the entire offense. If the o-line coach wasn't cutting it Crowton should have addressed this. I don't put most of Jefferson and Lee's problems on them but an inability to develop them by their coaches.

that's your take on it. I got something very different from what he said.
Short and sweet... JJ has to do those things this season in a game. Could that be what he meant? But that should be obvious. J lee will come in when it's an advantage. As in when LSU has an advantage. As in when we are playing an inferior opponent or are up big.

I feel your pain for Miles' "coach speak". But Miles' job is to protect/advance his team (our team). He is a professional (one could say a politician) when addressing the media/public. Reading between the lines he is saying JJ is the starter and is improving. JL is the backup and might see some "mopup" duty. As another poster said, it's not Miles' job to disclose how he really feels to the media/public.......
I've said in another thread that in order for JJ to move to the next stage in his development he needs to trust his abilities and just fling it to where he thinks his receiver "should be" on any given route/play call. Progression to 2nd read, etc. - yes, these are desirable as well. However, even flinging it to a "semi-open" 1st read or correctly (no penalty) throwing it away should be what JJ needs to be striving for. IMO.....
I used "short term memory" as an attribute JJ should work on. Brett Favre has thrown many interceptions. Still, he would come on the field on the next series and would just as likely lead his team down the field for a TD. Move the chains... "Short term memory". I see this in baseball also. Pitchers give up a base clearing HR, but still must face the next batter... "Short term memory".. The best develop this attribute!! JJ, trust your abilities - don't throw it "not to be intercepted" as in low or behind our super talented receivers. If an interception happens, it happens. Part of the game - remember, the other guys in the SEC are good as well. More interceptions, maybe. Chance for many more points for our 2010 offense, absolutely!!!
Good luck JJ on your development as QB of our LSU team!!!!

I don't think it's inconceivable that Jarrett Lee would get on the field in a game, in the first game or somewhere down the road. Right now it is not without possibility, but it is not something we are planning on.
I really like Les, but he must be the #1 tutor for the circular speaking circuit. I read this and say

JJ has a full year under his belt, he can either handle the job or he can't. If he doesn't know his role at this point he will never be a QB that is worth a shite.
What the frick have they been doing all offseason?
Scoop-you are pretty damn spot on, even if you are a Gump.
But back to the OP...
Could be another loooooong season

Alan Greenspan when he was the Fed Chairman equals Les Miles talking about his damn strong team. Don't even try to decipher what either said, because you will end up with brain damage for sure.
