You don't even know how many games are in the NFL regular season. Your opinion means nothing. Drew Brees wasn't a Ditka player, plus Jim Haslett was the coach before Payton. You are an idiot supreme.

there is a distinct difference between kicking an on-side kick when you don't absolutely have to and going for it on 4th near the end of the first half vs. running Hester on 4th down repeatedly because you cannot win the game without it.
Miles' "lesticles" moniker was completely unearned. He puts his teams in positions where they need a big play to win. The PLAYERS were coming through with some big ones to save his butt (Hester v. UF, Byrd v. AU, etc.) but you can't always rely on the players to come through, especially collegiate ones.
SP coached that game to win last nite. Miles more often coaches not to lose and hopes to rely on some late miracle by a 19-22 y/o to win the game.
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

I like the aggressive style but the difference between Shawn and Les is that up to this point Shawn hasn't made a fool of himself. Shawn is currently seen as one of the best, if not the best, if the NFL. Furthermore, Shawn has this cool and collected mentallity and demeanor. Les, on the other hand often is seen looking like a baffoon...in both speech and personality. ANNNNNDD MORE IMPORTANTLY if you look at recent history Shawn's Saints have gotten expotentially better. The same can't be said for Les's Tigers. Les inherited a great program and it's gotten worse. Shawn inherited a crappy program and made it great!
Atleast spell the mans name right if your going to compliment him.

At least I know how many games are in the NFL regular season and who the coach was before Sean Payton. You don't know a damn thing about football.

i bet payton doesnt call for a spike with one second left..
I bet drew brees has more sense as well.

There is no defense of the calling for the spike call. It was one of the worst moments in LSU football history.

Then the record would have been:
regular season 10-6
post season 1-1
total season 11-7
You tard.

He mouthed clock it and made the downward arm motion. No denying that. He lost the game a few plays earlier anyway. It was just a clusterfrick of monumental proportions. Get ready for another mediocre season before Les is canned.

Amazing how all of a sudden Sean Payton is this immortal coach that Les Miles can't compare to, eh?
The Saints went 8-8 and 7-9 the previous two seasons and Payton was on the hot seat.
Oh, these poor widdle bitchers and moaners don't like Miles's "public speaking."
It kinda reminds me of what Casey Stengel said when the press made fun of the way Yogi Berra talked:
"He talks okay up there with a bat in his hands."
This thread illustrates the idiotic mindset of those who are conveniently forgetting Payton was on the hot seat and crowing now that Miles can't compare.
So those of you that Miles doesn't speak to your liking and other assorted rantardedness can STFU.

Then fricked up again against Penn St. It looks now like they got lucky against Arkansas. If he leads LSU to an SEC Championship this coming year, I will think differently of him as a coach. As of now, I think he lived off of the best talent that was ever at LSU his first 3 years. I think some of his recruits are overrated early on and aren't being developed properly. Maybe I will be proven wrong. We'll see.

I'm not a miles apologist but i think the rational on this board has a lot to be desired.
you're basing your opinion off of one game. the ole miss clock it game. However, the comparison to payton is a fair one in that how they are aggressive in going for the win. with that said, if you bash miles because he did that play, then you have to bash payton for a double reverse that caused a fumble which caused the loss a year or so ago. There has been more plays called by both coaches to give praise and to be critical. they have both one at the highest stage and both been a goat at times.
both take risks. last night, payton lost won on the fourth down and got away with it. He got one on the onside kick. it's great if it works, if it doesn't, then you're down 7 to 9 points. are you singing the praises today if it doesn't work?
at the end of the day, the players make the plays that decides the games.

Payton has that same riverboat gambler attitude that Miles has displayed during his tenure here at LSU
Payton has coached that way from day 1, Miles was a "gambler" for 1 season

Seems Payton has picked up on a few coaching techniques from the coach up the river
are you high or just incredibly stupid?
