Why does Alabama have like 14 starting seniors,
The reason for this is that Saban/Bama preach, eat, and breath team over individuals. There's a reason you don't hear as much nationally about Bama players. That hasn't been the same for LSU. Look at all the attention the players from LSU have gotten. The environment of team helps bring some of those bama players back.

I'm not saying great players shouldn't leave early. But I have personally known a few bama players, and I can tell you for a fact that some of those bama players have returned because of how they are indoctrinated with "team". Some of it is conscious and some of it is probably subconscious.

Anyone who thinks Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne, Barkevious Mingo, or Michael Brockers should have, or would have under any circumstances, returned to LSU for an additional year is a complete idiot.

this is correct.

Staying to get a degree, or for any other reason, is far too risky for elite players. They have a marketable skill and an employer willing to pay them millions of dollars over the next few years. They MUST LEAVE.

You'd do the same. If you're a software guy and Google tells you after your junior year that they'll hire you and pay you millions of dollars, are you saying no?

And the entire degree thing is overblown - you can always go back and finish that up later, but with millions of dollars in your pocket.

(And I've got two degrees, so don't assume I don't value education).

You are truly an idiot. We reload with young talent every year and it shows in our mistakes and discipline. Perhaps if we were able to retain our experienced talent, we could cut the shite and add wins.

I understand what you are saying but you are barking up the wrong tree. He keeps what he can but kids leaving for the NFL is not Miles' fault, its the system that lets them leave after 3 years out of high school which I believe is fair. It is much better than NCAA Basketball where its one year and done.

You may see kids staying longer if Miles makes the offense fun again and lets a player like Reuben Randle stay longer if he is involved with the offense, especially a 5* talent like he was. With a better offense makes the defense better and they could retain a couple of Juniors every year to come back and join that dynamic offense to win a Natty

Airfernando, with all due respect, your monologue below is missing ONE HUGE factor; the Red Elephant Club insurance policies, loan guarantees, etc. The guys at Bama coming back for their Sr year are not coming back for a trophy when they have potential millions sitting on the table (with the exception of players like Barrett the center whose parents were already in the money). But, with the economic impact of a Natty somewhere around $400 MM, the REC will go to great lengths to get these players to come back. And they make it worth it worth it to the player$ and their familie$.
