Miles' main area of improvement needs to be player retention

Think about it for a second, if Miles and his staff could cultivate a culture of finishing your degree and dedicating yourself to LSU, would we even be discussing his job at all.
Imagine 2011 with Patrick Peterson on that defense as well. Geez
Imagine 2012 if Rueben Randle stayed and was able to help Mett on offense, and if Morris Claiborne and Michael Brockers stayed on defense. That's a one game improvement at least. So going from 10-3 to more likely 11-2. I think we beat Florida for sure and probably Clemson. Hell we could have gone 12-1.
2013, with Mingo, Montgomery, Brockers, Simon, Minter all back on defense, with our offense that year, we beat Georgia for sure, and Ole Miss, another 11-1 season.
Fast forward to this year with losing Kwon Alexander, Danielle Hunter and Jalen Collins, perhaps we wouldn't have struggled as much against Ole Miss and Arkansas. Kept it closer at least.
That's why we really need guys like Beckwith, Pocic, White and Hawkins to stay, we are constantly being stung by the draft. Heck maybe those boosters who want Miles gone should pony up the dough SMU style and keep our guys in Purple and Gold.

or maybe he just shouldn't develop them so well so they won't get drafted in the top 3 rounds.

Main area of improvement is player retention.. really

You are truly an idiot. We reload with young talent every year and it shows in our mistakes and discipline. Perhaps if we were able to retain our experienced talent, we could cut the shite and add wins.

Anyone who thinks Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne, Barkevious Mingo, or Michael Brockers should have, or would have under any circumstances, returned to LSU for an additional year is a complete idiot.

Half those guys you listed were drafted in the first round. Why Would they stay in school? You can always "finish your degree" after your NFL days are done. The exceptional players will always leave early. I think it come down to recruiting and how sparse we were at the DL and LB positions.

Miles could coach the same, my point is if we kept our upperclassmen, Miles' last 4 years are a lot better record wise and possibly performance wise. Point being if Miles wants to be stubborn cloud of dust nice guy, he needs to keep his experienced horses running in the race.

ahhh...so it's Miles' fault that 1st and 2nd round draft picks are leaving for the NFL

Why does Alabama have like 14 starting seniors, and when our guys trot out for senior day we have a few walk-ons and about 4 starters?

I disagree that this is Miles' main area of improvement (that would be QB play/development), but yes, it is a big reason why LSU has struggled recently
although it has seemed to have slowed down the last few years
just not sure if that is because of Miles focusing on keeping players or overall talent level down from the past

Bama lost Sims, Cooper, Collins, and Yeldon. Remind me how they're doing right now?

Choctaw you are worse than BeeFense sometimes. I'm not saying it's Miles fault, I'm saying Miles could be exactly the coach he wants to be, and if he could retain his upper classmen, he would have at least 4 more wins the last 4 years, and be a lot more competitive and competent on the field.
Point being is that we wouldn't even be discussing his job status whatsoever.
10-3. Vs. 11-2/12-1(beat FLA/win bowl)
10-3. Vs. 11-2/12-1(beat UGA/Ole Miss)
8-5. I still think we go 8-5 the last two but
8-5. we are much more competitive.
That record stands out a lot better.

don't blame them at all. Miles hardly ever utilized him until his last year.
And two of the guys behind him are now stars in the NFL and he isn't.

What if all the other schools kept all their players, too?
