Was one of the most egregious decisions ever made in the programs history. I still don't understand how this was allowed to happen

Ok. You're the AD. Your football coach comes to you with a 34-6 record in the hardest division in the toughest conference in all of football over the previous three years. He has an undefeated SEC title and a national championship appearance in that time. He has a national championship trophy, another SEC title and a division title in the 5 years previous to that. He wants a raise and an extension. What do you do, oh wise one? Tell him to get fricked and move down the road?

Tell him he's already a top paid coach at that time and if he truly wants to go to another program for more money than that is a shame.

He wasn't worthy of an extension and raise.. not after the embarrassing 2011 championship game. That was extremely ugly

I give Miles a lot of credit for 2011. That was not a failure of a season. Sure, he should've put Lee in. But getting to that point was a masterpiece. Neither QB was very good so rolling through that schedule was impressive. Beating Bama was impressive. The real blame is why Les could never find a better QB option. No way should JJ/JL been starters for 4 years.

and if we had a coach where another team was willing to buy out his contract, y'all would be whining about why didn't we make the buyout larger. y'all really suck bad. LSU fans are the reason i hate LSU fans.

Maybe his fanboys, but not the ones complaining he got the extension.

"Hey coach. Yeah, I know you rolled to the best regular season is LSU history with an undefeated SEC title and beat a bunch of BCS bowl champions and had more wins than the national champions and did better than 125 other teams....but frick. You lost that national championship game. You suck and aren't worthy of anything"

Please tell me again why you're not an AD of a power 5 school? Any school?

The way they lost that game in 2012 it would have been better off had they not made it there. No one will ever remember the 13-1 record.

Nobody was knocking down the door for Miles. You play poker and see just how high he is valued by the competition.

The problem was not the extensions or the raise, Alleva never adjusted the buyout. Miles was on the hotseat in 2010, no one saw the 2011 season occuring. The debacle in the NCG should have given Alleva enough leverage to give the raise, but make the buyout favorable to LSU.

The flirtation with Ark was bull. Alleva should have definitely adjusted it there. Two opportunities to make the contract more favorable to LSU. Miles has always had issues so no reason not to look protect LSU.

This is why Alleva should go, and Skip really dropped the ball as well. Alleva has never tried to protect LSU. Never had an issue costing money instead of saving it. That is what bit him on the arse.

This does seem to be the case. One would think he'd be sought after considering his 82% national vote of confidence.
