It was time for Miles to go, you know that.

As much as I hated the Orgeron hire, it doesn't change the fact that Miles needed to go.

My comment had nothing to do with keeping miles. I absolutely agree it was time for him to go. My post was comparing expectations.

We didn't even "settle" for our new coach. This is an outright failure.

said the oline and dline depth has been a problem brewing for years, and his thoughts were that no matter who we hired it was going to be an 8-4 or 9-3 season, which it still may be.

quit bashing the staff and face the fact that we don't have the talent on the lines. this happened under les miles watch. don't put it on ed know matter what his position was under les miles, the head coach.

not saying you have to love Eaux, but if you're a tiger fan you need to be fair. he's playing the hand he was dealt.

oline can and will improve, but we're going to have to muddle thru with our dline. injuries and suspensions are killing us, and that appears to be our lot this season.

we will win some football games this year. 8-4 looks awfully good and 9-3 herculean.

Great post and all true. LSU waited too long to fire Less Miles.

He was, but he wasn't the boss. He worked for Less Miles.

Miles was 3-4 in his last 7 regular season games. He lost by 21 to Bama, Ole Miss and Arkansas his final full season and we beat a bad Texas A&M by ONLY 12 points.

He was losing the recruiting battles to several schools.

Coach O isn't perfect , and he should have went the Juco route last season for Dline and Oline. Honestly except for Surtain, and MArshall ALL the remaining spots for recruits should be OLine and DLIne.

The OL has had the same problem for years. In fact, they have gotten worse under Grimes. O should have canned his sorry arse and found one of the best OL coaches out there.
You're plagiarizing my posts here. Been saying this for several years now.

OL is loaded down with Sun Belt/SWAC level talent. Grimes is clueless.

I can only assume they want to bring Mawae in here, but wanted him to get actual coaching experience first, so he's getting that in Chicago with the Bears.

Hopefully he'll be the OL Coach in 18 or maybe it will be split into Tackles/TE's and Guards/Centers.

I'd go after Key/Cristobal in any case and maybe hire Pendry as Shadow.

It has to be totally revamped and overhauled in both Coaching and Recruiting philosophy........

Louisiana politics intervened

How did it intervene last season? That was all on Alleva and Alexander going cheap.

This past cycle, yes...there's aleady a record presence of freshman playing early.

Crazy, Miles gets zero blame for what he left us, but Miles gets all the credit for the 07 NC

Key might have been out of shape but MSU still ran away from him all night long.

Also, thank god we got rid of that moron miles who won 9-10 games every year for a guy that is apparently going to water mark at 8-9 wins

No, it was time for Miles and LSU to part ways. LSU had the chance to bring in a proven HBC and fumbled that one away.

Perhaps outside pressure to hire a Louisiana native came in to play. I'm all for Coach O for the time being, but believe he should have a remarkable short leash.

The head coach dictates who (positions) to recruit. Saw this coming 2-3 years ago. Finally caught with us. When is the last time we recruited a big tackle? Always slid a guard over.

"O" was made Recruiting co_coordinator in March of 2016, after the signing period and didn't hold the position for 7 months.
