It is obvious Scivicque is the man. Sorry. Pap will be good in time. luckily it looks like there will be plenty of time to get him experience.

Sorry for stupid off season threads.

The only way he starts the majority of the games is if Scivicque struggles badly behind the plate. Like Mainieri said yesterday, Pap can play now but he has the luxury of bringing him along slowly unlike Ty Ross circa 2011.

I don't think he is gonna start most games unless Scivicque struggles. You can expect him to get spot starts though, especially when/if Latz starts.

He will also likely be brought in as a defensive replacement late in games. He will play plenty. People need to stop worrying about this.

I hate to be captain obvious, but it depends on how he hits relative to the other two. If he's close to their average, with a similar percentage of productive outs, he'll take over.

More than likely he'll develop against either lefties or righties first, and we'll see him in those spots. Both of the other catchers bat from the right side, so look for MP to carve out an early season spot against lefties.

First part is looking good. I hope the second is wrong this year. He's crushing it, and killing people on the bases.

This makes no sense. Why would you not want your righties vs LH pitching?
