Yes, look at the recruiting rankings for the current rosters:
2011 - Bama 1, LSU 8
2012 - Bama 1, LSU 14
2013 - Bama 1, LSU 6
2014 - Bama 1, LSU 2

Recruiting rankings aren't an exact science. Ever here of a little thing called the Bama Bump?

It's a complete joke. There's no way we finish worse than 3rd.

We finished 7-5 in 2008 and was still third in the West. We haven't finished worst than third in the West since Miles has been here.

Is there a first time for everything? Of course, but that shite ain't happening unless we just have a bunch of problems that are unavoidable (will not jinx us with the I word)

LSU will NOT finish 7-5 this year. The team will get better throughout the year. It may look not as pleasant the 1st few games. But in the End LSU will have a nice 10-3 or 11-2 season. Its a down year on offense in the SEC and LSU has the "D" to compete with the others.

ESPN simply gave each game a % that each team would win.

What many people are not realizing is that we have an extra "losable" game than aTm and MSU.

Here's how they rate LSU's chances in each SEC game:

MSU - 60.3%
@Auburn - 26.8%
@Florida - 50.1%
Kentucky - >70%
Ole Miss - 65.3%
Bama - 42.5%
@Arkansas - Unknown
@aTm - 38%

Replace Wisconsin (My guess they have us between 55 and 60%) with Nicholls and it probably jumps to 8.5 or so.

Consider they give MSU a 40% chance to beat AU, and aTm a 30.1% chance.

This is stupid though. We've beat Auburn consistently since Miles has been here and one loss was by terrible refs. The other was when they had one of the best players in the SEC ever. Even then with absolutely zero passing game (by either QB), we only lost by 7 points. That is why a 28% chance of us beating Auburn is not only downright silly, it's like trying to be a retard on purpose. Then 38% against TAMU???? The same team that we have crushed the past 3 games? The same team that will have a true freshman QB going against possibly at top 3 secondary in the nation and the end of the year? A pass happy spread and a read option team beating us is possible, but us not even clearing 50/50 is just stupid.

We should be favored in 9 games and 50/50 in the other three. I really don't care what they think, I just don't understand the reasoning behind it.

very ugly wins

Why do you say that?

I know we're young and all on O, but this offense will never be as ugly as what we all remember as long as Cam Cameron is on the staff.

There has only been 1 season in the past 11 years where we've won fewer than 9 games; none in the past five years. And we've won 10 or more each of the past four seasons. There is no reason whatsoever to think we would only win 8 games this season - ridiculous.

Bama has had way better talent?

Huh.. I guess that means we haven't had a shite ton of juniors turning pro every year? I just imagined it.

we get it, ESPN picks us to finish 4th in west.

This time of the year is funny. ESPN says A&M wins 8+, Bo Mattingly predicts A&M won't make a bowl game.

I wonder where these "experts" predicted Auburn to finish last year.

Nobody said we don't have high level talent. Just said Bama has better talent as a whole.

Not all those juniors made the right decisions. Some went undrafted - Johnson, Ford, Wing or were drafted pretty late - Simon, Ware.

Bama has the best talent in the nation. Can LSU compete with them and win? Yes.

For me, 8 wins is a worst case scenario. 11 wins would be a best case scenario. Average 9 or 10 would be realistic. I've had to accept replacing Hill, Landry, Beckham, Mettenberger is just too much to overcome even with Fournette, Dupree, Quinn, etc. This is going to be a very difficult season to predict simply because to match the offensive numbers from last year would be incredible. That's unless Jennings, Harris (or both) exceed expectations. The SEC West is the toughest division in all of College Football. I have to say MSU and TAM ranked ahead of us is a little painful to look at.

Pretty good overview, I agree mostly.
