All hail and pay homage to the best catcher the Tigers have had in many years. We're going to miss his leadership next year.

We've had some greats (Creese, etc) but he's arguable the most solid all around catcher we've seen.

True dat, but what sets him apart is his base running. How many catchers in all of baseball have well above .500 bases stolen?

Micah Gibbs is truly amazing. I wasn't ready to call him the best catcher we ever had until his hitting came around, but it truly has now. I'd love to have him around one more year.

Should be 1st team All-American if he can keep his hitting at its current level.
Show me another catcher with his numbers?

And more importantly, a first round pick?

I don't know enough about pro baseball to make an assumption like that

Gibbs has been one of my favorites since he got here. I love him and Mahtook. Both of them are nothing but heart, and all around great guys.

He should win the Johnny Bench Award. Can't see any other catcher having his offense numbers and being as good defensively as he is.

I guess you ignored the post above about Yasmani Grandal.

So stop being that guy. Grandal is a more prototypical hitter. Gibbs is a better defensive catcher...more accurate pegs and better technique.

How do you know this? I haven't seen Grandel play, so I don't know. The stats don't suggest Gibbs is a much better defensive catcher, but stats can lie.
