Don't forget Hakeem Nicks . Seeing as how Nate Washington was their best receiver last year with Hunter and Wright forgive me for not having confidence in them. Hunter was garbage last year and is probably only on the roster because of his draft status. Hell, Harry Douglas might be one of their best WRs this year. DGB better learn how to figure out zone defenses because he certainly struggled with that in college.

Good for him. Will only make the Titans better with that mindset.

Yes.........but he's still got a lot to learn. He's certainly capable of being a good NFL quarterback.

I know that this statement will rub a TON of people the wrong way. But isn't it possible that Mett fell into a really good situation during '13 at LSU. Especially given the talent that is succeeding at on the next level.

OBJ-1st Rd, ORFTY & Considered a top ten wide receiver in the league
Landry- 84 catches & 5 Tds in his rookie season.
J.Hill- Currently the RB1 in Cincy & a thousand yard rusher in his rookie season
A.Blue- RB2 in Houston. I don't think anyone expected that.
T.Turner- Starting RG.
L.Collins- Would have been a 1st Rder. But we all know what happen.

Mett needs to make himself as marketable as possible. Mariota will be the guy, you don't draft him that high not to be the guy.

Mett needs to be looking at playing the best he can to enhance trade value, Romo is almost done, Manning will be done soon, Brees is almost done. There will be opportunities out there to compete.

He definitely had an all star cast.

He also spent a lot of time working on mechanics and studying film in the offseason.

If you can't see an improvement in him as a passer from 2012 to 2013 I don't think you're being fair to him.

Is he going to be as good as some of the professionals he's been compared to? Maybe not. I think he can put together a few decent-to-good seasons though.

Mariota may turn out a great QB, but he reminds me of another QB from the PAC that the Titans drafted, Jake Locker. Of course Mariota had much better talent around him in college than Locker did at Washington.

Locker never completed higher than 58% of his passes. Throwing out his injured sophomore year and he barely completed above 50%.

Mariota was never below 63%.

That's not all surrounding cast. lulz at your comparison.

This frustrates me, screw the Titan's front office. They should've traded the draft pick and really addressed their needs.

I'd love to know what some real offers were. To me it sounds like they were never interested in trading it as opposed to not finding a good enough deal. We'll never know what the Eagles really offered, but if it was as much as reported, they were insane to turn it down.

Locker's biggest issue was injuries. Marietta doesn't have that track record of injury that Locker had.

We will see PurpleandGold. Locker had more of a pro style scheme as well. Again not saying Mariota will not surprise me, but he will be the first QB from Oregon to do anything if he does.

Marriotta has bust written all over him. The front office of the Titans are a bunch of fools.

Situation certainly factors into it a lot. I'll admit Locker didn't have the best situation in college or the pros. He played for Willingham and Sarkisian. I commend Sark for pumping up Matt Barkley, but he did say Barkley would be a better NFL QB than Andrew Luck. The Titans are not a great situation, whether it's Mettsiah, Locker, or Mariota.

That said Mariota is the best QB Oregon has ever had, and it's not close. If a Oregon QB is going to succeed I'm going all in with him. This isn't a Darron Thomas, Masoli, Harrington or Akili Smith situation where there are obvious limitations.

I tend to agree PurpGold, he is the best one of the Ducks and he seems to be a great kid. I think Mett or Mariota didn't get any favors as Titan draftees. GM and coaches may all be gone after this year anyway. This could play out two ways. Mariota will start, the Titans ads already feature him as basically the savior. If he struggles which is likely, they may go to Mett to save their jobs. If he is 2-4 or something , they will probably stay with MM. I'm not sure there is a QB on the planet that can win consistently with team. With a new coach in 2016, the competition may be fair at QB, not this year.

really barring a season ending injury or something seriously illegal marriota will be the starter. You get picked #2 youre the starter.

Unless Mett vastly outplays him during camps and preseason and the coaches would risk losing the team by playing favorites instead of playing the better guy. How can you legitimately expect a team to play hard for you as a coach if you dont play the best player, especially at the QB position?

I watched that episode last night and it annoys me that he's not actually saying "no".
