quote:

“I don’t [know] what the mind-set is, but at the end of the day I can just control what I do and I’m extremely confident in myself, almost to a fault,” Mettenberger said. “But people who know me know I’m not going down without a fight to the death.”

Mett will be a starter somewhere in the NFL eventually.

#Throwsnhoes

Never thought two of my favorite qb's would be on the same team. Too bad they don't have anyone to throw the ball to.

Hunter, Wright, and now Beckham are not a bad receiving corp. They just won't be able to get them the ball bc the o-line is so bad. They could have addressed that early in the draft...but hey, they had to have Mariota.

This.

Maybe the injured players from last year will play well this year.

The competition will make him much better

IF...IF he and his camp actually made the trade request statement he has a lot of growing up left to do. He should have said this day one instead of feeling butt hurt.

Again, that might have been 100% media fabrication. And if so he is mature enough to win this job. He definitely has the tools.

I love the attitude but he's fighting a losing battle...just no way Tenn will sit their #2 pick. I feel for him.

Hopefully he takes advantage of any PT he gets and moves on to another team.

Unfortunately I think Mett is fighting an uphill battle on this. The Head Coach practically stated it's Mariota's job to lose. But we shall see. Mett has the tools to be a very productive player in the NFL.

Unfortunately I agree.

This is NFL politics. Teams are married to their high draft picks. Coaches are pressured by ownership to get a return on investment from these picks.

If by chance Mett blows Mariota out of the water (which is a possibility) they will trade Mett and keep Mariota. That's probably the best case scenario.

really barring a season ending injury or something seriously illegal marriota will be the starter. You get picked #2 youre the starter.

Love mett has the fire to compete. I have no doubt he will be a starter some where.

Certainly won't be a fair fight. It sucks but that's the reality....

With that offensive line Mariota will be injured in no time.

Mett is an NFL QB, but if the Titans change the scheme to more of a read-option Mett is not going to win that battle. I hope he gets a fair chance to win the job.

I know this was already discussed on draft day but the Titans management must be a bunch of complete morons. Mariota is going to be the next in the line of gimmick offense QB's that don't pan out and they'll be back at square one minus $30m. Should've just traded down and taken a good supporting cast because, IMO, there would've been a much better chance of Mett turning out to be an above average QB if they would've built their line and defense a bit than Mariota taking their current shite players to the promised land by himself

even if mett loses the starting job at QB, he'll be playing plenty because mariota will be hurt playing behind that O-line.

Am I the only one who thinks that Mett would flourish in Arizona?
