It obvious that he has the tools, and that he has a great public attitude. Hopefully it is the same behind the scenes, but there is no way we can know that. If he does, then he will be a leader, if not the leader of the offense.

I like the fact that he looked cool and in control the entire game. I never saw him look rattled in the game, and considering how hyped the crowd was, and how loud the stadium was from start to finish, and that it was his first SEC road start, that's a big deal. Also, the fact that he was smart enough to throw the ball in the stands, even on third down, spoke volumes to me. That shows some maturity, and some learned lessons from the two picks he has thrown in the red zone. He isn't trying to win the game on every throw. On top of that, Mett only had one really bad pass decision, where he threw the ball into traffic.

In the end, Mett still certainly has things to work on, just like any new QB. But, with the D and RBs as good as they are, he doesn't have to do it all. If the O-Line and WRs can step it up (and boy do they need to), then we should be able to keep winning while he works out the kinks on the job.

This is not a post comparing mett to luck in any sense but one. The NFL analysts mentioned a few times that a good QB can have 6 TD's and 2 ints and will leave the game regretting those ints. That's the difference in mett and JJ. JJ could play aweful and have a hand full of good plays and says he did well. Mett can play a pretty good game with a handful of mistakes and the mistakes are what's on his mind.
