How many of those other guys on that list have shown you they belong?

Tyler fricking Russell?

Oh, and I had a dream a few days ago that Jennings was starting and Mett was on the sidelines...

Then Mett will just have to show them how it is done.

His play at the beginning of last year was extremely erratic and I hate to say it but his last performance was nothing that special either.

When Mett plays poorly he does one of two things (or both):

1) Hold on to the ball too long (part of this is the protection, or lack thereof)

2) Overthrow receivers

And generally, I feel like the offense under Mett has lacked the killer instinct. Examples: we failed to put Bama and Clemson away even though we had both of those games won.

At the beginning of the season I thought that his internal clock during pocket pressure was off. During the game vs. Clemson his footwork was slow & the play calling was horrific.

I just hope that the majority of LSU fans that look at this list don't come up with the argument that ZM8 is being slighted or overlooked, because we only saw a few flashes of him being a above average passer in the SEC.

he's the 3rd best QB in the SECW right now and has more weapons for this upcoming season.

Also, comparing Boo & Mett vs SEC oppenants.

Boo Wallace
158/250 comp/atts
12 Tds/10 ints
63% completion

Fwiw, he has six rushing tds as well.

Zach Mettenberger
130/237 comp/atts
5 Tds/4ints
54% completion

Yep. I like the guy and hope he shines this season, but there is no snub here based upon his performance last season.

Direct reflection of our atrocious one-dimensional offense. Hopefully that changes this season.

The LSU passing efficiency in 2011 ranked number 18 in the NCAA and number one in the SEC.

Zack in 2012 had a passing efficiency ranked number 77 in the NCAA and number 11 in the SEC.

It's not surprising he was passed over and he holds some blame for the offense.
