What an arse. That ball isn't worth a damned thing now. You should just let me throw it away for you...

Why does everyone dump on a guy that

1)made All American at LSU
2)chose LSU over the other schools in his own home state
3)came back to LSU for the 2012 season when he could have gone pro

????

Turning on him? Am I? I haven't said anything bad about Sam. In fact, I said I really like the guy...one of my favorite Tigers. I just thought the Rant would get a kick out of something this insignificant during the offseason. Geez people...

So am I. He should have signed it "Hard Work and Hustle."

Why, because he didn't use "geaux"?

I'm glad he didn't.

So he took a second of time to autograph something for you, a grown man (I assume), and you bring it here to criticize him?

I would give 2-1 odds that if he had tried to spell geaux it would have been spelled wrong.

To be fair, he was taking a break between letters.

I met Sam too. My reaction was a little different I guess. I still watch him treat fans as gold. He spends his time talking with kids and taking pictures with anyone with a camera. He treats people like people want to be treated and yet some still attack him.
The man closed down Tiger Stadium hours after everyone else was long gone. There was always one player left, usually sitting on a curb talking with everyday people. The people who saved every penny to get in a game, drove hours to get there, and he made us feel like we were the stars.
I can't imagine the road that man has been down but I only wish him the very best life can offer.
You see, there are those very fortunate people who appreciate Sam for who he is. A more genuine person you won't find.

I do know that in a few short years there is going to be a rash of young men stepping onto the field at Tiger Stadium because one Sonic Sam took the time to make friends with them.

I hope your football goes flat, or better yet, give it to some young football fan who would kill to have it. There were thousands of them at every single Tiger game.
