Is it just me or is CMM just loading up on La transfer players who weren’t good enough to recruit out of high school?

You can’t compete in the sec like this.

Very "blah" as far as his recruiting goes.

Correct, and it’s just dumb. I do think it’s out of necessity though because he isn’t a dynamic recruiter. There is no doubt at this point that we are going to be bad until Scott rectifies the situation in a couple of years.

McManon will have this season and the following (3 years total), without significant improvement, we will be in the market again

I get the sense that he is trying to put together a very competitive Murray State team. He is talking publicly about getting an older team with "proven" production. The production isn't overwhelming, though. I'm not sure the build a contender for the OVC playbook is going to get him where he wants to go. That said, it is hard to imagine they could be any worse. Maybe this can get him close to .500 in the league. I'm not betting on it, though.

Come on man. Give the guy a chance. He only needs 5 more years to be competitive. We’re getting there!

Honestly I think he’s too good of a guy to recruit in the NIL world.

His recruiting from high school and the portal is more concerning than the team's on-court performance last season. That's what makes you think he won't be long for the job.

What Wade was doing recruiting wise at LSU was unheard of. It really highlights it even more now with the new guy in charge. I will say he has been put in an uphill battle with the looming sanctions but if doesn't get better players he will most definitely be gone by year 3.

How long does LSU actually give him? I mean it can’t help that Mulkey has already won a Natty. Does anyone here think he’s a stepping stone for a bigger fish?

Time will tell. However, I don’t think he is in an easy position. I’m hoping for the best!

It will take another year like last year for him to be gone year 2. My best guess though is he will get LSU to middle of the pack next year in the league and make it to year 3.

We did the same in football when we needed to fill a roster. I understand it's a different sport and football had some key pieces already in place along with a good high school class... but he's got to build a foundation somewhere and that is going to be with kids from here who dreamt of playing here.

Not saying it's gonna work like football though.

It won't because that's not how college basketball works today.

That probably worked in the OVC

Wonder if I can get a special deal to transfer my men's season tickets to women's?

We were dangerously close to making a run after beating Georgia in the SEC tournament last year.

All in all I love where this team is at for next year.

Men’s recruiting is blah/ mediocre/uninspiring. That said , Jordan Wright is a dog and always has been. He should have been here all along. Cook is very good. The others are serviceable/much needed. But yeah, we are who we think we are. There are no stars in the bunch.

While I don’t think he’s a great coach, I also realize the situation he was put in is extremely shitty

Time to review who mainly enters the transfer portal

1) players looking for more playing time & opportunity (usually have to take a step down)

2) players looking to be challenged & gain exposure in a better conference (step up)

3) players leaving due to coaching change

Not sure why it matters if they are from Louisiana or not. Some of these kids just so happen to be. Cook obviously was recruited by Will Wade to lsu, so that kind of nullifies your point. Stewart was a high level player at a high major school. Both hit the sweet spot with the type of players lsu can draw.
