Very interesting that you ask as there is some girls lacrosse in Louisiana & we went over to SJA last week to help spread the growth of the game.

Here is the post via our Facebook page:

LSU Womens Lax @ SJA

Very fortunate to have been able to work with a few St. Joseph's Academy students on Thursday, Jan. 29. We were able to host a free clinic for potentially interested girls, and the numbers looked promising. We hope to continue to help grow the game in LA, while simultaneously giving back to the community!

Below is an article SJA wrote about the clinic, along with a link including pictures from the event. Geaux Tigers, and happy February!

Happy Friday Tiger Fans! The time to meet the Lady Tiger coaches is here!

Top Left: Coach Amy Jones is in her 2nd year of coaching the Lady Tigers. Originally from Jarrettsville, Maryland, Jones was a Goalie for the Wagner College Seahawks (Class of 2009), where she holds the school record of Most Saves in a Season at 184. Jones is also a member of the 2008 & 2009 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association Academic Squad. When Amy is not on the lacrosse field she is getting her hands dirty with history...as her day job is the Assistant Archivist for the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Amy Likes to collect academic degrees like one would collect baseball cards, currently holding a BA in Anthropology, a MA in Irish History & an MLIS in Archival Studies.
Fun Facts: Jones loves blasting music in her jeep "Jolene," Geocaching, & reigning queen of Baton Rouge bar trivia extraordinaire. Amy was once sprayed by Mike the Tiger, an event she describes as "repulsive," however described as a true religious experience to the diehard LSU fan.

Top Right: Coach Lauren Davenport is in her 2nd year of coaching the Lady Tigers, known as "Coach Lo" on the field. She played defense on the team in her graduate year at LSU. Originally from Columbia, Maryland, Davenport played basketball, football, and field hockey--but was always around the sport in her high school years. Davenport received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education & her Masters Degree in Gifted Education. When she is not coaching, Davenport works as the EveryOne Counts Coordinator for VIPS (an education nonprofit) and as the Campus Minister for the MLK Catholic Student Center at Southern University; and volunteers by teaching PSR (Parish School of Religion) at Immaculate Conception, BR and at St. Isidore.
Fun Facts: Lauren is the first of the coaches to own a Jeep though she chooses not to name it. Lauren plans to go on a hot air balloon ride over Baton Rouge at some point in the next 6 months. Additionally, she wants to go to drift school thanks to The Fast & Furious movies.

Bottom Left: Coach Casey McDonald is in his 3rd year of coaching the Lady Tigers. McDonald played for the LSU men’s lacrosse team from Fall 2001 to Spring 2005. He graduated with a degree in Ag Business from LSU & has since gone on to earn his Masters in Athletic Administration from Ohio University. Along the way he has coached at the high school & club/travel levels in Texas, Louisiana, & Florida. While in Florida, McDonald led University HS to the best records & 1st playoff berth in school history. He was also awarded Metro Conference Coach of the Year in his 2nd season with the Cougars. McDonald has also coached 2 seasons with Rollins College in Winter Park, FL in addition to his HS coaching, & 1 season back with the 2013 LSU Men’s Lacrosse Team, at which point he also began coaching the Lady Tigers. He rounds out the coaching staff of Jeep drivers, which he lovingly calls Jessie”. McDonald lives in Breaux Bridge, LA with his wife & kids.
Fun facts: Casey attended the historic “Earthquake Game” back in 1988 at the age of 5. He has since been blessed to be an LSU Tiger fan for the rest of his life. He will not leave the end of an LSU football game, home or away, until the Golden Band from Tigerland has played the Alma Mater. He also owns more t-shirts than any 1 person should.

Bottom Right: The heart & soul of the Lady Tigers Lacrosse Team is without a doubt Coach Collin. He has been an avid lacrosse fan since the age of 3 & can often be found telling players “Good job” & “Geaux Tigers”. As a current Kindergartner, he collects conduct grades of S+ & classwork grades of 4 (both the highest marks 1 can earn) like Coach Casey collects t-shirts. He is also in his 3rd season with the Lady Tigers & is convinced that lacrosse balls are in fact NOT dinosaur eggs, as Coach Amy tries to tell him they are…Coach Collin rides along in Coach Casey’s Jeep & prefers the top to be down so that all the girls can see him as they drive by.
Fun Facts: He has unlocked the 8th World on Super Mario Bros. on Wii all by himself 4 times, twice with Coach Casey. He loves his dog, a German Short Haired Pointer named Trout, more than anything else in this world.
