Has OM ranked #1 and won his opening series.

Would have done anything to come here but he wasn’t enough of a “splash hire” for our egomaniac AD.

Also got destroyed by Oral Roberts at home, and Blown out by Auburn in game one. Give it more than 19 games, Mainieri went 29–26 in his 1st.

They’ll probably host and we don’t look like a regional team.

They’ll host and lose the regional like they always do.

Exactly being good during the regular season wasn't his problem. Getting to the postseason or winning in Omaha was his issue.

If you listen to any of the local media it was. The propaganda about Jay Johnson being an all world hire despite him being a relatively unknown commodity is pretty substantial.

Culotta, Hanny, Moscona, etc etc raved about the hire. It still may very well work out but I even thought at the time that it was a massive overreaction for a dude who hasn't really done much yet

Rantz is the only ex LSU guy that pushed for Bianco.
This is a good article. See what Todd Walker said about Johnson…

"My first interaction with Jay Johnson was here at the College World Series on the field," said SEC Network baseball analyst and former LSU All-American Todd Walker (1992-94), who was the most valuable player during the Tigers' second national title run in 1993.

"I'm sure his mind was was going in multiple directions," said Walker, who played in the Major Leagues for 12 years. "But he took the time to talk baseball with me for 10 minutes. Very impressive baseball mind, energy and resume."

"He won out in a very thorough coaching search by Scott Woodward," Walker said. "That probably tells you all you need to know about Jay Johnson right there. I'm excited to see what he can do."

Madden video game mindset beams on this board.

Just plug n play.

No room or time for building the team, learning through adversity and facing failure together, testing guys limits, combos, etc.

1-0 every game or we suck.

Brittle brains

Ole Miss fans were upset that we didn't hire Bianco last year... let that sink in for a moment.

Anyone that wanted LSU to hire Bianco hates LSU.

An opening series win on the road is great but they won’t be #1 next week after a 2-2 week.
