Don't get your hopes up right now men's basketball is effectively dead, and if you think other good players who might consider LSU right now to help out with this shitshow you are delusional.
This isn't the right fit for McMahon. Certain coaches are built for this type of rebuild and it's not him. Bad evaluation by Woody because this is all just a waste of time and a Big asss money pit.
Womens BBall will net more money so there's that part too.

He's not a placeholder. He was given an 8-year contract because it was obvious to every reasonable person that it would take time to build a program back.
But, predictably, the unreasonable faction of the fan base expected the team to magically come out and be world beaters with a roster fashioned with duct tape and bubble gum.

McMahon isn’t going anywhere whether most of you like it or not. He took over an impossible situation in year 1. Might as well get behind the guy and be supportive rather than trashing him at every turn.

I dont understand why people dont get this. You cant judge him on this year. After about year 3 if things arent going upwards then be worried.

Why? Missouri has a new coach that replaced an entire roster with players lower ranked than lsu. They are competing for a tournament spot.

I’ll be honest, I don’t think Matt McMahon has been a good coach this year. I think he’s been downright bad in some areas. BUT, I don’t think that has to dictate on how his career goes here.

I personally believe this is our fanbase's biggest problem. Too many expectations. They aren't unrealistic, mind you, just shouldn't be the expectation. This program has never been a consistent conference title contender. Expecting something that's never been is strange.

I think he did a great job putting together a roster that people (and "experts") thought was good considering the circumstances. We were picked to finish in the middle of the pack of the SEC as a result, yet we've been terrible in the SEC with 8 consecutive double digit losses in league play and were easily beat by a last place Texas Tech team missing two starters.
So I have concerns about how our guys are playing. The guys who came with him from Murray State (who have played under his system for years) have major defensive fundamental issues (though KJ has good offensive skills). Also, his bench demeanor is more like Trent Johnson and JJ - extremely mild-mannered. Those guys didn't didn't do well here. Some coaches with great talent can make that work, but we don't have great talent, so I think more is needed from the bench on game day. I want him to succeed badly, but I think there are some legit concerns.

I’m not sure what this has to do with anything. I guess you deflect and make excuses. CMM May turn out to be a great coach here but this season has not been good. Myself and many others point out that other teams have this problem and are succeeding.
