I think people are blowing the whole "Lee throws off his back foot" idea out of proportion. Many of his throws Saturday were not off his back foot.

Although it isn't pleasing to the eye, I think he's releasing the ball at the proper time - regardless of whether he is "set" or not. I think some patterns require that you deliver the ball at the moment the receiver gets separation from the defender - and the fact that the QB's feet may or may not be set is irrelevant.

Throwing off your back foot affects velocity.

This.
I really think he's intentionally taking velocity off the ball to put it where he wants it. To do that he may be throwing off his back foot to "finesse" the ball to the receiver. Whatever it is, it's working.

This really isn't a valid comparison. If you look at a frame by frame of Furyk's swing, at impact, he's in a perfect position. You can't really compare a QB throwing off his back foot to an unorthodox golf swing.

This may be ignorance on my part, but can you not compensate with a harder push of the ball?

Lee kind of throws it as he fades away, but maybe he Favres it or something and just uses all the strength in his arm, not his body.

I have no problem with it if hes successful doing it at this level because he can get away with it

But if he wants a shot in the NFL hell have to fix his footwork. But most college quarterbacks go through that
