Yeah, I hate to be excited about someone presumably being out of a job, but I didn't like his writing one bit from day 1.
And he's a pretty big troll. But that's what journalism is now, so I guess I can't blame him there.

He was a miserable hag who thought himself better than just a sports writer just cause he got a degree in writing from Missouri. He would write in a style that wasn't fitting to sports writing and always slanted things in a way that just didn't make sense.

He wasn't a good fit on a couple of fronts and was let go. Sheldon Mickles is being taken off Saints beat to LSU and will cover men's basketball.

To put it nicely, I did not like that guy. He always wrote and tweets in a very negative manner, often negative to LSU. It was his schtick. I don't like writers like that (similar to Matthew Stevens for Miss St). Glad the Advocate did the right thing.

I understand having a different perspective is important and helpful in the mundane world of continuous media narratives, but he did it he wrong way.

He thought he was smarter than him and wrote like he wanted everyone to know it.

Never liked his style, seemed pretentious & not "in touch" with football in the south. Glad he's gone, he, like his alma mater, had no business in the SEC.
