Its pretty much a lose lose for LSU in the media's eye. We win, we were suppose to because they weren't fielding their best players. We lose, its even more embarrassing for LSU because they were playing second string. No respect period.

It does matter because you need media respect to get in the NC game. But I imagine, really doesn't hurt the first game. If LSU takes care of business in the SEC, we'll get recognized. Its still annoying.

A win is a win. We are going to have enough challenges this year that if we are aiming for the top, then we will still have to earn it

If we just keep winning, they can't keep us out of the NC...so it's irrelevant

Haven't seen the news on ESPNs site yet. The only story I could find LINK has Davis still playing coy.

Heck, we may go into this game with more players out from injury than the Tarheels have out for discipline.

It's a win/win...we win, hey we're 1-0...we lose, we get a new coaching staff

If LSU takes care of business and ends up with an SEC championship. They will play for the NC regardless of if they lose their first game or not.

Alabama won the BCSNC last season by beating Texas, who didn't have their best player (Colt McCoy). Did that deminish it in any way? I haven't heard anyone say it has. Things happen, many teams , win many games, with players, good players on the other team missing.

True, and we'll be missing two starters and two key subs.

Yet no one is talking about that.

I did find a link confirming it. LINK.

Looks like Davis is trying to seperate it from the NCAA probe. Not sure if there is some reason behind that or not.

So, how does NC's loss of Austin compare with LSU's loss of Deangelo Peterson, Chris Tolliver, Baker and (maybe?) Downs in this game?

Well for one, none of them are projected top 15 picks...

CT was going to see limited PT

Downs is in the two deep

Peterson hurts but we have some solid young receivers

Baker hurts but Chavis is one of the best LB coaches in CFB, IMO

Austin is a impact player, none of the above guys have come close to proving that. So, I'd say Austin is a bigger loss...
