Did you not see the energy that dunk provided for our team and fans? We needed a spark and that was it.

And it's not like Martin has never done that and just decided to try it in the game. He knew he could do it so he did it. And he made it easy.

You can't justify that. It's a reflection on Martin and a reflection on Johnny Jones.

If it were a situation where we were up by a lot with little time left then fine.

Best slam since the Jabari Smith fake-behind-the- back slam against #2 Arizona years ago.

Now that I think about it, I don't think that's correct either. We beat them twice when they were highly ranked. The other time was when they were #1. I think they were #5 or maybe even #4 when we beat them that year. It was the best slam though.

They were #4 when he did the funk dunk that year. The #1 upset came a couple years later.

Also, that funk dunk was awesome but it wasn't the first time he had done it. He did it against Grambling earlier in the year.

Still one of my favorite dunks I've ever seen in person.

Stop complaining. It worked and it's not like he's trying those type shots all the time. If he does it again, bitch. Until then, just enjoy it.

Here's a HQ vine from the official LSU basketball twitter page. Can someone turn it into a GIF?

That slam shows that we just aren't really that talented.

Didn't UF go on like a 15pt run?

Martin steals it, does the dunk, energized fan base and team.

We go on a 9-0 run to end the half.

Justified.

Must win game, tie score, playing an underdog in your gym...yeah, that's a good time to pull out the between the legs dunk.

You have no ability to be objective. No coach in the nation wants his player to try that in that situation.

Much smaller stage but I think the one against Grambling was actually better than the zona dunk

You aren't the coach. You think Jones wants him doing that? Obviously no. But be a fan. Enjoy that it was a very hard move and he pulled it off. Get aggravated if he tried that shite all the time.

Most people didn't see the Grambling slam. I think he took that one coast to coast. He was fed the ball and dribbled a few times against Arizona. He had a guy trying to defend him on both slams. They were awesome.

Level of difficulty - yes

Awesomeness of the dunk - NO

Remember Jabari actually needed to do the fake behind the back move to fake the defender out of the way. Martin's move was cool but wasn't necessary.

That being said, plays like that do fire up the crowd. A fired up crowd DEFINITELY helps the home team.

That's nice, but wins and losses are more important. I care more about that.

I'm not aggravated. I think it was a dumb move. I think it shows the mindset of Martin (may explain his up and down play this year). And, I think it shows the lack of control Jones has over Martin (and may explain some of the teams lapses over the season).
