Will get a shot according to Corey Raymond. I was listening to Hanging with Hester and Raymond said he will get a shot.

Would be a huge corner at 6’3 195

Was Netherly recruited as a WR?

While surprised, it's not a big shocker. Mannie is a talented wide receiver in his own right, but we have two absolute studs in this incoming freshman class. I hope he can make the switch and be an effective corner. He has some serious length.

weights are usually accurate on LSU's site.

Heights never are, as they usually add 1.5" - 2". . He's 6'1".

He played QB for 3 years in high school as well as WR in his first two years. Was exclusively a QB during his senior year.

Kind of like Jonathon Giles in high school who also played QB and then blew up when he became a WR in college. Hopefully, Mannie blows up as a DB.

From his LSU bio:
"Versatile offensive threat who played quarterback at Crosby High School in Crosby, Texas ... Passed for 1,634 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior ... Added 612 rushing yards and nine touchdowns .."

He did have a hell of a year at WR as a junior. His stats are about half way down the page on 24/7.

Very interesting. Did he play both ways in HS? Mo claiborne did, and made a good choice playing db.

Interesting...

Love his size and athleticism. No idea if he’s ever played CB before, but Im glad we moved someone to CB. I’m guessing Raymond + Aranda saw something in him and wanted him to move to CB. And I have complete trust and confidence in them 2. Hopefully it works out.

I do see an obvious silver lining.

Compared to some of the DBs lately (excepting Greedy of course) he'll know to look for the ball.

So irritating when Donte would almost get hit in the back of the head.

I'm okay with this. Got a lot of WR. Hopefully he gets playing time regardless.

I don't understand, our great HC just said that we filled all of our needs at every position with this "elite" recruiting class he just brought in.

If we met all of needs then why is Coach Yaw Yaw moving WRs to CB? Doesn't that pretty much admit that he didn't fill all of the needs with this "elite" recruiting class?

Would you prefer no attempt be made to solidify the CB depth? You sound like a miserable piece of shite.
