Harrison Jr will do well too because it's in his pedigree.

That’s not why. He’ll do well for the same reason Thomas and Nabors will do well…he’s good. No GM gives a shite about Harrison’d dad. Fred Biletnikoff probably had sons. Where are they?

I think Nabers and Thomas Jr will be like the second comin of Jefferson/Chase. 2 really talented LSU Wrs about to have great NFL careers.

Not to shabby on the offensive firepower in the last 5 years:
1)Burrow/Jefferson/Chase
2)Daniels/Nabers/Thomas.

You didn’t have to post all all that. I never said Indy had a slow track lol

Specifically how much faster is LSU? Like give us a number on Malik in Indy and back it up with data…

I’m pretty surprised BTJ was a tiny bit faster. He’s as fast as Chase. Technically 0.01s faster.

I figured BTJ would be mid 4.4’s

yeah it’s impossible that another month or working on technique for a month or so improves your 40 time by a few 100ths of a second! what a nemrod

I just checked combine vs. LSU pro day numbers over the past couple of years and it appears most guys who have run at both have indeed been a hair faster at LSU.

That said, I think it might be a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you are happy with your 40 time at the combine you’re probably not going to run at your pro day. So guys who have run the 40 at both, at least in recent years, have likely done so because they expect that they can beat their 40 time from the combine. Most guys either run at one or the other.

Nobody ran at both in 2023.

In 2021, 2 guys ran at both:
Austin Deculus ran a 5.08 at the combine and a 5.00 at LSU.
Neil Farrell ran a 5.41 at the combine and a 5.33 at LSU.

Can’t count 2021 because of the weird “combine” format.

Nobody ran at both in 2020.

In 2019, 2 guys ran at both:
John Battle ran a 4.67 at the combine and a 4.60 at LSU.
Nick Brossette ran a 4.72 at the combine and a 4.74 at LSU (slower).

In 2018, 2 guys ran at both:
Donte Jackson ran a 4.32 at the combine and a 4.31 at LSU.
Darrel Williams ran a 4.72 at the combine and a 4.59 at LSU.

I think the poster above made an excellent point that guys who run at the combine, and are happy with their time, don’t run at LSU. The ones who do are the ones who ran slower than they expected at the combine. So obviously if your comparison group is the group that ran slower than they expected, then the later (LSU) times will probably be faster even if the track isn’t faster.

I’m not sure LSU is the faster track as much as it is the comfort of being in your environment. I’d imagine the nerves are much stronger in Indy for most of these guys compared to being on campus.

LSU’s surface notoriously

The LSU indoor football facility has a surface so fast it’s known far and wide? And it’s not meaningful because it’s faster? But faster like that’s bad? Because notorious? Infamous even?

Causation \=\ correlation, penny

“Guys not happy with their time” is code for slow

Of course most of the ones satisfied don’t run again.

15yrs of data does not discriminate

If his name was Marvin Smith, Jr, he wouldnt be a top 10 pick. He's good, but def gets a bump from his last name.

Its still crazy people praise Marvin Harrison Sr despite him killing a man.

It’s a bit of a moot point because, as people have noted, there’s a brand new surface at the combine (so results 15 years ago are irrelevant today).

That being said.. you think Donte Jackson and Danielle Hunter are slow? Is Jamal Adams slow, or did he have a couple of bad reps at the combine?

There have been plenty of guys who ran slow at the combine and chose not to run the 40 again at LSU pro day. If you’re slow but still hit your best time at the combine it doesn’t make sense to run again. If you’re fast but you whiff at the combine, it does make sense. There’s an inherent selection bias in the data.
