If I am Dave Arranda I come in with a gameplan that centers around making Jaylen Hurts beat me with his arm. Hurts is a good QB especially when he can use his legs, but a polished passer he is not.

He will. There will be 19 holds against Bama that will be ignored by the refs as he scores on the games final play. Fact!

With our rush, I'm not sure they'll need to hold

That's what every team tries to do. It's just that nobody as of yet can move the ball or stop their rushing attack.

They did get called for at least one hold against TN...only watched about 15 min. of it off and on, so there may have been more. It's a positive sign anyway.

First thing I do is run a whole bunch of tackle drills. The one thing that the defense does that drives me crazy is all the missed tackles so far. Time and time again it looks like we have the runner or QB only to have them slip out and take off.

You have to realize that every time Hurts drops back to pass it is also a running opportunity. If we somehow get a good pass rush and chase him out of the pocket, if we don't contain and tackle it is going to be bad news for sure.

He had a perfect plan last season for stopping a better Bama offense. If somehow he can duplicate that or come close to it we can get those bastards. I trust Canada to get us a couple scores. I know I know their dline will most likely outplay our front but we've felt with that all year and we've still won games. Etling is used to running for his life so facing Bama will be no different for him.

the problem with hurts is he is no ordinary Qb with wheels who can break contain and take off outside scrambling. if you do not stay in your lanes up the middle he can run up middle also for HUGE GAINS plus he is strong as an oX and hard to tackle. he can kill us a myriad of ways. will be very hard to keep him in pocket without somewhere on our D line not breaking down or coverage not breaking down. i agree though IF we can do that it forces him to beat us with his arm.
