Good picks from last year. One of the guys is an Auburn writer...the other I don't know.

It's a good article. Pretty much what I was thinking about LSU's situation.

Spot on analysis re teams putting 8 men in the box last season

Myth, myth, myth!

At the start of the season, teams dared us to pass, and stacked the box. Then, when teams realized we could not run the ball very well regardless of the box being stacked, they started staying in coverage and did so for the last 8 or so games.

As much as that article includes plenty LSU love..

It has all of them picking Alabama to repeat yet again for West Champ, this despite losing it's entire 2-deep Defense for the most part..

To say that the expectations of LSU by many people in and outside of Tigertown, have dropped significantly in just two two years time, should they be happy to be picked anything but first..

And that Saban has Bama rolling, on the field, and in recruiting Top 3 classes(and in landing recruits from across the nation like when at LSU)..says something.

LSU is still neck-and-neck with Bama in head-to-head play the last three years, and in recruiting..

But, two perfect Bama regular seasons back-to-back, in contrast to LSU's .500% SEC play over the same course, has the national and regional perception that the chasm to be much much much wider.

Time to right the ship!

Nailed it 100%

Florida exposed this weakness and we did not adjust. Florida sent 7 into coverage and generated a consistent pass rush with their DLine and were able to stuff the running game as well. That's why we weren't even close to beating Florida, we couldn't do anything even though they were only rushing 4 Dlinemen.

That 2009 Florida game was basically LSU vs OU 2004..IE..as dominant a win that a mere 7 pt win can be.

Just like OU vs LSU, LSU couldn't get past the 50 yard line for the most part, and were 3-n-out all night.

It was hopeless, even when only down a TD..just absolutely stuffed and inept vs that D..pinned against your own endzone all game.

Great article. Judging by their success in their predictions last year this could be a good sign.

I watched a practice video someone posted on here the other day and JJ looked to have a really weak arm. They didnt mention a lack of arm strength when comparing him to strong armed Jason Campbell. Is the concern about his armstrength on here legitimate? JJ wasnt given a chance to show any armstrength in the games last year.
