He threw 28 pitches over 2 innings in the SEC tournament. I think if they can extend him to 50 pitches his next start then he will be a legitimate 4th starter option. I'll take 4 quality innings from Latz over whatever Valek may give us.
BUT, I think to get there Latz needs a start before the CWS. That's why I said in another thread that if we are playing to win the CWS I think Latz needs to start Friday.

If they begin the game Friday when they know they have at least an hour window without rain, they should start Latz. Then they can play it by ear with the forecast.

Who ever does start Friday they should be ok with him only going 4-5 innings.
