I hope he turns things around and gets there. But so far, what has he done to warrant going in the first round? Imagine working for an NFL team and having to sell your GM on burning your first round pick on this guy.

Mason Smith is not going anywhere near the 1st round unless he has some explosion in production from now until the end of the season. Whoever wrote that probably just looked at a preseason projection from someone else and is just going with it.

I mean he’s not gonna stick around to help mentor the young guys or just cause he loves the program so much lol.
But he’d do it if he really thought another season would drastically increase his draft stock. But if anything in RD1 is realistic, he’s gone.
