Good luck to him but I wonder if he has watched an NFL game before.

LSU literally can’t have full contact for the spring

Two scholarship DTs. Guillory and Jalen Lee. This is something …

losing guys like Langston and West hurts even more now. Not saying they were going to be great but at least they were in a college weight room and were here. What do we have like 3 defensive tackles on the team now not counting the recruiting class?

And we lost Hill, that's 6 defensive tackles that won't be on the team next season. Looks like McKinley, Shone, Johnson, Lee and Tank will be what we have

Let's put ourselves in his shoes...major injury, 3 D Line coaches in 3 years, would be staying to be under his 4th D Line coach. Why should I risk another year at LSU? When I can risk the same time horizon on making an NFL roster. I hope he gets drafted, and makes the roster, and has a good career.

I truly hope Maason lives up to his potential in the NFL. He was on Roller Skates most of this past season.

Very disappointed BK has not done squat in the portal for defensive tackle. Yes he still has the spring but most of the talent has been gobbled up. He should have seen this coming a month ago and attacked the portal much like FSU has done the last two seasons. Now he will have to rummage around and take 2nd tier tackles that don’t come close to top tier SEC talent. This team and roster is 2 years away from competing for a playoff.

DERP!!!

What could have been.

Could be argued that 1 MS "celebration" cost us 2 playoff trips.

We'll have to grab at least two portal DT's in the spring. Depth is going to be a huge problem next season. Smith would have been better served to come back to school another season.

Not only have we lost our 3 starters at DT we lost the majority of our young back up depth at DT due to transfer. Tygee Hill, Bryce Langston, Fitzgerald West and even Quincy Wiggins would help at this point. I stay calm usually but this truly has gotten to a point of disaster. This is Kelly’s blind spot and it’s going to cost them next year if they don’t get very aggressive in the portal. The portal is literally there for situations like this. You can’t go old school mindset when you are this gutted.

he's played basically one season in those seasons you are talking about and didn't do shite. Good luck to him but honestly it's the bitch move.

I agree with you, imagine being drafted solely because of your physical attributes, dude could have been a monster, but ran his mouth more than anything.

Worst starting D tackle since the 90s and he declared for the draft early.

I wish the guy well. But this is not a bad loss. He struggled all year.

Terrible decision but good luck to the young man. Pray that it works out for him.

It’s absolutely a loss. He would start at DT unquestionably and the depth is non existent. It’s very much not ideal.
