* A&M wanted PP7, but were told by Lyles that it would take $80K to steer him away from LSU.

Texas has a big hate on for LSU. We have taken a few major recruits from them the last few years. Tolliver, Loston, Shep. They hate us for it. Always thinking "LSU is up to something".

That story is literally months old, and denied by everyone involved. The Texas A&M recruiter that made those accusations is now at Kansas IIRC.
Texas A&M issued a statement calling the accusations a "non-issue".

Every indication that I see is that the LSU compliance department has dotted every "i" and crossed every "t" with respect to the Lyles arrangement. Don't overlook the importance of that, especially in contrast to Oregon which I understand parted ways with its head of compliance.
