It seems every time I turn on the local espn station in Austin they are talking about Will Lyles and how the next big bomb to drop will be at LSU. No named sources, just unnamed sources in the rivals and yahoo network. I guest hosted the Saturday show I used to co-host and of course it was the big topic of conversation. Lot of hate for LSU and the SEC in this town and it seems a lot of people are hoping LSU gets in a lot of trouble over this.

Well duh. The only thing that would make them happier is if OU was getting a little heat.

It's the only thing to talk about right now in college football. It'll die off when the season starts.

Same thing in North Carolina. Every afternoon the local guys are saying how the next bomb to drop will be LSU and Cal.

Is this related to the Yahoo story that the Robinson guy is supposed to break? The one that is supposedly a ten.

If I were in Austin I would be shutting the frick and looking busy as the NCAA bus rolls by. UT wants NO PART of an investigation I bet.

I don't know. I'm just saying it's a boring offseason. Nothing to really discuss outside of baseball, NFL lock out negotiations, and baseball.

ETA: Just realized I said baseball twice.

Austin may be one of the most beautiful cities in the country, but it also houses the most wretched university known to man, and some of the most liberal SOB's alive. Obviously, I mean no offense to the OP.

Haters gonna hate.

Yeah that's true. I just thought that he said that it was an SEC west team not named Arkansas or Ole Miss.

I wasn't sure either. I have kinda been confused on this whole situation with Lyles and his story, the NCAA and LSu's involvement and this story supposedly coming out of Yahoo that is a "TEN".

seems to be a bunch of wishful thinking going around the country about LSU getting in trouble

I just don't see it being about the Tigers right now but could be wrong

It seems like lazy journalism. they know that LSU has dealing with Lyles (6k for JUCO scouting) and since the Oregon story is played out with no new info, they have to come up with something new and exciting. Cal seems to have done the same thing but Cal wouldn't draw as much attention in Austin.

Texas fans have busily convinced themselves that everyone else is dirty and they run a clean program - even tho people in Texas are as crazy or crazier about football than anywhere else in the country.

Does that make sense really? Have none of these people actually seen how their adults behave at just their high school football games?

Anyway RE: LSU and Lyles - so far LSU smells really good (esp compared what could have been alleged). The payment to him was above board the documentation was excellent and no one involved in the recruiting has alleged impropriety

But knowing what a bunch of arrogant pricks Texans can be makes me hope the 10 story turns out to be how Texas/boosters pay their high school coaches. Funny how Lyles mentioned that originally and then it was swept under the rug - not unlike Colt McCoys wife going on the radio and saying kids were getting money all over the place.

According to Dan Wetzel, LSU is not involved in the "Ten" story. Would rather have heard that from Charles Robinson but it still makes me feel a little better.

By being a TEN, are they saying it will be as bad as possible--a ten on a scale of ten?

When did Wetzel say the "TEN" story isn't LSU?

I have to admit this makes me very uneasy.
