Apparently GoDaddy just emails you relentlessly when it's about to expire.
Wouldn't want to be the intern who was supposed to be reading emails the last few days.

Of course, it's entirely possible that godaddy.com simply has had a major problem that is causing the godaddy screen to come up instead of the webpage.
