LSU’s Zachary Fitzpatrick Receives Prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship

“We offer our congratulations to Zachary on becoming the first LSU student to receive a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. This award will support his study at Cambridge, one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and is on par with the Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford,” said LSU President F. King Alexander. “This is a well-deserved honor for him and is yet another example of the endless opportunities available to our graduates on the national and international stage.”

I'm glad you posted this. I've tried to keep up with this selection process.
Most importantly, this is a great honor for himself; but also for his family, friends, and our university. His fellow 2015 class comprise of students connected to some of the most distinguished universities across the world.

Dang LSU right up there with Northwestern and Michigan State as big FB schools with many road scholars?! Didn't know this and what a badass recruiting tool for LSU.... One of the best degrees out there! Go Tigers!

I'm sure he's happy about the scholarship, but now he's got his own thread on the Rant. That's something to be proud of.
